Review: Chanel Powder Blush - Nude

Chanel has always been a designer name that I have loved since I was a teen. Due to lack of funds though, sadly anything I own by Chanel is 'Fanel'...fake Chanel. I own one fake bag and feel like a douche every time I tote it around with me. After watching a special on Tyra I stopped buying the fake bags.
Recently though I was given (complements of el' uncle) a slew of Chanel makeup products. Chanel makeup products are expensive as hell, as we all know. My budget allows me to buy makeup...but not expensive stuff like this, and when I saw the official Chanel logo I was in la-la land.
The first thing I grabbed from the box of goodies was Chanel Powder Blush in a Nude tone.
I myself have never really been a fan of blush, but was willing to become one for Chanel...plus it was free...and Chanel! Hello!
The tone was in nude, so it was a color that I could use with my skin tone without looking like a goddamn clown. I don't know how many times I spot chicks wearing blush that is just way to dark or pink/red for their skin tone. It just looks terrible.
Chanel Powder Blush Nude though is the perfect tone for all skin types. It's not too light nor too dark. When applied it lightly gives your cheeks a natural darker shadow.
Packaging:
Chanel Powder Blush comes in a squarish shaped compact. The outside of the black compact has the official C and backward C logo. You open the compact by pressing a click button. Inside of the compact is the blush in a circular pod to the left, and to the right is a small blush brush. The compact also comes with a large 2 inch x 2 inch mirror. It's probably the largest and best mirror I have ever seen come included with a compact.
The Promise:
Chanel promises flattering radiance to cheeks. The foundation is silky and will go on with ease while creating a subtle shading. The blush also promises to accentuate cheekbones for a natural youthful look.
The promise was nothing that made me grow warm inside, because after opening the compact up, I can honestly say that I wasn't too impressed. I began thinking that perhaps the blush was crap disguised with the Chanel name. I however had to put the blush to use to officially validate my first impression.
My Use:
I ran the small blush brush into the blush and picked up some of the color onto the blush. I applied the blush over my powdered foundation, and saw a slight color change; it was very subtle looking though. After applying the blush and looking in the mirror I can say that I was quite impressed.
The blush did in fact apply in a very easy and silky manner, and was extremely easy to blend into my cheeks.
It was like applying a light layer of dust to my face, and I couldn't feel any weight difference. The blush was light, and felt like it was not even there; this my friends is a plus.
I also applied a little bit under and around my eyes. According to the site doing so will soften your expression. They were right, it not only managed to hide my small fine lines, but my face seemed more alive, clean, and awake.
Lasting Power:
Chanel's Powder Blush looked fantastic on my cheeks all freakin' day long!
Overall:
Although Chanel is an expensive brand to pick up when it comes to makeup, I can see why it is so expensive. It is seriously makeup like no other. Fantastic, easy to use, and sexy coverage while still giving your face a natural appearance. What more could one ask for when it comes to blush!? Who would of though blush could do all that!? I surely didn't, and I doubted the product the moment I popped the compacts top.
Pricing:
I know the pricing is a bit scary for some, but Chanel Powder Blush - Nude comes to $40.00 for the compact.
Is It Worth $40.00?
Now I am no makeup expert, but I have used a decent fair share of cheap makeup and expensive makeup, and I can honestly say that $40.00 is well worth it if you are looking for a fresh, clean, and natural look that will not weigh your skin down or feel gunky by mid-day.
I'm not going to bash on you for not purchasing it though, because it is indeed expensive...but if you o have the spare cash on you, it truly is a blush that you will adore, as will your face.
