Review of MAC Studio Fix Powdered Foundation - C35

When my uncle came up from the city with boxes filled with goodies I was in awe at all of the expensive products that sat before me. Makeup goodies! I love his visits because not only do I get to see my favorite person on earth, but I also become the proud owner of makeup products that I could only dream of. I feel like a queen for a day while I dig through these surprise boxes of beauty products and dig up items such as Chanel, Armani, YSL, and so on...
I have known about MAC makeup products for ages now, but every time I come across MAC products I have to quickly walk by them, because their prices are out of my normal league.
While digging through the boxes of dream products I came across 5 different shades of MAC Powdered Foundation. The one that best matched my skin tone was C35.
This particular shade is good for those who lack a summer tan, but have a bit of their own natural color thanks to Italian and Indian heritage. C35 is a lighter golden colored pressed powder.
I usually use liquid foundation followed up with some pressed powder, so when I got my hands on MAC Studio Fix Powdered Foundation C35, I knew I would use this in place of my old pressed powder.
Packaging:
The pressed powder comes in a black compact with the words MAC Studio Fix on the outside of the compact. You must press in an easy to see button on the outside of the compact to get it to open. Inside you will find a mirror and the pressed foundation. Now the cool part is that you can lift up the pod where the pressed powder lies, underneath you will find an application sponge.
The Promise:
Mac Studio Fix Powdered Foundation promises a velvety cover that contains silica which will absorb oil to maintain a matte finish. The foundation also contains microscopic talc which will allow your skin to breath.
My Use:
I dipped the application sponge into the pressed powder and applied it to my face. Immediately I could see the powder attempting to cover my flaws, and surprisingly the larger pores on my face were masked underneath the foundation. I was surprised to see that a little went a long way when it came to MAC Studio Fix Powdered Foundation.
I really loved the finish, but I wondered how long it would look this way on my face. Usually makeup always looks great on me for the first 4 hours of the day, and as soon as the temperature gets humid, or the day wears thin, so does my makeup.
MAC Studio Fix Powdered Foundation though withstood the test of time, and left me with a silky clean look all day long. Overall I can say that I had a lovely matte oil free face.
Pricing:
MAC Studio Fix C35 is normally a $25.00 product. It's a price that I myself would never pay for makeup. Usually pressed foundations cost half that. However after actually trying this higher end product I can seriously say that I am hooked to MAC products.
Availability:
After seeking this particular foundation on the internet I was able to locate this exact color here at the MAC site.
Overall:
Although $25.00 sounds a bit pricey for just powdered foundation, I can honestly say that it is well worth it. As soon as I run out I will be heading out to pick up some more.
-I swear to you that this will become your all time favorite foundation. For me; it looks best over some liquid foundation.
*This was not the only goodie inside the box of products during his visit, stay tuned for more of my MAC reviews.
