Review: Giorgio Armani Sheer Cream Blush - 4

In a box of makeup goodies that I recently was given I pulled out a product by Giorgio Armani. I knew I had the golden ticket in my hand. I knew that this odd compact contained something extremely special.
The Product:
Giorgio Armani Sheer Cream Blush.
I knew that by the designer name itself that this blush would be something extremely fantastic. I also knew that this was probably the most expensive product in this giant box of freebies. After looking it up online it turned out that my guess was right.
The color:
There really is no particular color. It is actually a shade, and this particular sheer cream blush was shade 4. After opening the black compact I thought that this shade would be way too dark for my skin tone. After swishing my finger through the blush though I could see that once it was applied it would be light, because the blush itself is sort of transparent. It does however give off a light tickled peach brown color, when blended would be perfect for nearly any skin tone.
The Giorgio Armani Promise:
As with any makeup or beauty product girls want to know what is special about the product. Giorgio Armani promises a sheer natural flush that will enhance your complexion while sculpting your face delicately. You will be left with a natural, warm and radiant glow.
It all seemed sweet; really sweet, and I couldn't wait to give it a try.
My Use:
I'm not much of a cream blush fan, as a matter of fact I have never really liked any cream beauty products. Seeing how this particular cream blush was by Giorgio Armani though I of course was giving it the benefit of the doubt only because of the high fashion designer name.
First I applied my foundation, and a light coat of pressed powder to rid my face of any excess shine. Next was to apply Giorgio Armani Sheer Cream Blush.
I did so by following the directions on their site. It said to use 'the' blush brush to apply the cream in circular motions on your cheeks. I did a double take on my compact; there was no blush brush! I have no idea if it even comes with one, and after looking on their site, there is also no blush brush in sight. I figured perhaps it doesn't come with one, and they made a mistake on their description...or I figured perhaps the blush brush was lost in the particular compact that I was given...perhaps someone took it? No clue, either way mine didn't come with one, but lucky for me, I have a huge collection of brushes.
I dipped one of my blush brushes into the cream and applied in circular motions. I didn't like the way the brush was applying the cream so I ended up using my finger instead. I know this is a makeup no no, but I went ahead anyway.
The blush applied easily, and was very silky to the touch. On my face though it was not sticky which is a major plus, seeing how most cream blushes I have used leave me feeling sticky. The blush was also weightless.
The Result:
Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush 4, left me with a sun kissed look. The color itself was pretty transparent, but it was somewhat visible. For me, it was pretty much the perfect color, because I didn't end up looking like a clown. The blush left behind a light golden shimmer. I myself sort of hate shimmer blush only because I have combination oily skin...and any shine for people with shiny skin is a yuck fest.
The shimmer is probably the one issue I have with the blush. I could do without it.
Last:
Giorgio Armani Sheer Cream Blush #4 stood on my face for about 3 hours and began to fade. The light color it left behind was gone, but the shimmer remained. The one thing I wish would of faded first.
Overall:
Giorgio Armani Sheer Cream Blush in my opinion is a truly excellent product. I however don't see myself buying it because I cannot stand shimmer in makeup. Makeup in my opinion is supposed to be natural looking. There is nothing natural looking about shimmer on your face...the moment I see shimmer on a womans cheeks it is very apparent that she is doused in makeup. I hate that! That's just me though. For those who enjoy a shimmery look to their cheeks, this is an excellent product. It applied evenly, blends easily, and leaves behind a subtle color difference which is perfect for accentuating cheekbones.
Price:
Giorgio Armani Sheer Cream Blush comes to $42.00 for the compact. You can purchase it over at the site.
Is It Worth $42.00?
It is my opinion that no, it is not worth $42.00. Although it is a really great product, I can't see myself ever paying that much money for blush. Thank God for freebies! Cut that price in half, then we have a reasonable deal. Till then though, I find that the blush is just to expensive for the average consumer.
