La Prairie Cellular Lip Color Effects- Ginger Glace Is This Stuff Really Worth $40.00?

My Uncle actually introduced me to La Prairie cosmetics. Whenever he comes out for a visit, he comes toting large bags filled with high end products. Honestly had it not been for him, I likely would never of come across La Prairie.

My most recent findings within one of the bags he had given me, was a beautifully silver colored lipstick container. The container actually has a clear side panel built directly into it, so you can peek in and see what color is actually inside. At first, due to it's length of the tube, I thought it was actually mascara, because La Prairie Cellular Lip Color Effects comes in a pretty long and narrow tube.

The color which was labeled on the bottom on a small sticker is called Ginger Glace. I checked out Ginger Glace on the La Prairie website and it really does not do the color justice. In real life, the color is a very light subtle orange color but has a lot of shimmer within it making it look more like a sandy beige color.

The Promise:

Well according to the website, La Prairie Cellular Lip Color Effects supposedly will glide on smoothly while creating a luminous effect. La Prairie Cellular Lip Color Effects also will resist streaking, feathering and bleeding. Sounds pretty good, but as far as I'm concerned it looks like your regular old run of the mill lip gloss. In fact wet slicks makes glosses that look just like this stuff.

Lets see if it works better than $5.00 lip glosses, or if it's $40.00 price tag is absurd.

Well ladies, it's seriously safe to say that you are much better of heading to Walmart to pick up a $5.00 tube of gloss, because La Prairie Cellular Lip Color Effects is nothing spectacular, at all!

The application stick is a long white stick with a hairy type of application head. It's pretty fancy, but nothing Ive never seen before.

The gloss is just like any other gloss though, and it even feel like cheap dollar store gloss on your lips.

It has a thick texture to it, that is somewhat sticky and uncomfortable on your lips.

The last is also blah. I applied a thin coat of Ginger Glace to my lips and no less than 10 minutes later not a trace of the gloss, shine, sheer, or shimmer was noticeable. What a waste!

As soon as the color was gone I was able to feel one thing left behind, one thing tat I dd not like at all.

Dry lips!

Yep ladies, this gunk is junk.

Overall:

La Prairie Cellular Lip Color Effects, Ginger Glace is highly priced, and works just as well as a cheap dollar store no name brand lip gloss/color. It has absolutely no last, and actually makes your lips feel sticky. The aftermath of that mess is dry lips.

I recommend you skip La Prairie Cellular Lip Color Effects completely. The $40.00 price tag is absurd, and so is the results.
