When I first spotted Angel Rose Perfume for Women by Thierry Mugler
at a local Marshall's I was pretty excited to see what this perfume
would smell like. Initially the packaging was what captured my interest,
and unfortunately you get a mouthful from store employees if you try to
test the perfume to see if it is even worthy of buying.
I knew my mother was a fan of the original Angel perfume, so I figured
I would go ahead and purchase it, if I didn't like it I would pass it
over to her. If anything, I knew she would keep the bottle if she didn't
like the scent. She just loves collecting oddball and unique perfume
bottles.
The bottle came to just $17.00, so it was a deal considering most
places online and offline have Angel Rose marked at prices up to $35.00.
The Scent:
Once home, I opened the alluring looking black box, and removed the
bottle. The perfume itself can be seen through the unique star shaped
glass bottle, and it features a tinted pink formula inside of it. It's
really pretty in general, a bottle that is definitely worthy of keeping
after the perfume is all used up.
The scent on the other hand made me want to gag. The initial spray was
like spraying chloraseptic spray into the air. It had a very potent
high note of toxic chemicals that reminded me of days when I was little,
and sick, and my mom would shove the nasty green stuff into my mouth
whenever I had a sore throat.
As the perfume began to fade out a bit though, the scent was more
bearable. It had a manly zing to it though, and I did not at all smell
anything that resembled a rose. It was more like a misty yet strong
nostril catching herbal scent. Like patchouli and mint. For me, Angel
Rose smelled very masculine.
I ended up giving the bottle to my mom, she on the other hand liked
the perfume, but I think she just said that so I'd let her have it.
Regardless, I was happy to give it away.
Overall:
You will perhaps love it, perhaps hate it. It depends on what you find
enticing enough to buy. Before buying this one though, I highly suggest
getting a test strip of it first before just coughing up the dough.
