You have got to love after Christmas sales. You know all those awesome
perfume gift sets that stores try selling for $30 or more, well if you
hit up these same stores after the holiday ends, you can scoop up left
behind perfume gift sets for dirt cheap.
Take Harajuku Lovers Music Perfume for Women by Gwen Stefani
for instance. This perfume usually sells for around $30 alone. I,
however, picked it up on major clearance at just $5 at my local Walmart.
So the box may of been a bit dented, but who keeps boxes anyway?
The perfume had tricked me for quite some time though. I first ran into Harajuku Lovers Music Perfume for Women by Gwen Stefani
a few months ago, and skipped it entirely because I thought it was a
child's collection of glass dolls. I had no clue till recently that
these little glass dolls actually contained perfume!
There are 5 dolls in the collection which are made in honor of Gwen's band members.
The Scent:
I was expecting this perfume to smell spicy, similar to amber or
spiced musk. When I sprayed a small spritz on my wrist I was surprised
at how off my initial thoughts were.
Harajuku Lovers Music Perfume smelled delicious first of all.
The first note I got was a high sugary note of grapes. It smelled like
grapes to me, mixed with the scent that candy necklaces give off. It was
a sweet fruity flavor, with a nice undertone of what reminded me of
grape flavored pixie sticks. As the scent began to fade it had a more
juiced floral quality to it which I really liked.
The scent is really delicious, but at the same time really childish.
It's a scent that I of course would still wear, but not one that I'd
make a daily use of.
The Last:
While Harajuku Lovers Music Perfume smells good, a lot of folks are probably wondering how it weighs in as far as lasting scent goes.
I personally was able to detect Harajuku Lovers Music Perfume
for up to an hour till finally it fizzled out into non-existence. It has
some last, but it's not that great at all. Unless you don't mind
carrying it around with you to re-apply throughout the day then I
couldn't recommend this one, due to the fading powers it contains.
Overall:
I like it, but hate that it does not last very long. I don't carry my
perfume with me in my bag so this one is just wasteful to me. I was able
to pick it up for $5.00, and likely I'd buy it again if I could find it
at such a low price again. However if it were only available for retail
at $30.00 there'd be no way I'd spend that kind of money on such a
short lived scent.
