Review of Jesse's Girl Shimmering Pearls Eye Dust in Secret Weapon

Since discovering the wonders that one can achieve using Pearl Ex Pigment Powder, I stopped buying eyeshadow all together. You see Pearl Ex delivers the most beautiful colors in decent size plastic tubs, and yes, they can be used as eyeshadow.

More recently though I came across a decent sized container of eye dust from Jesse's Girl. I fell in love with their liquid crystal glosses a few months ago, and when I came across Secret Weapon Eye Dust from Jesse's Girl I was pretty confident that this eye dust would work just as wonderfully as my all time favorites Pearl Ex.

Secret Weapon is pigment powder just like Pearl Ex, and they come in a nice assortment of colors. I went with Secret Weapon because from what I could see it was a mix of a lovely light blue, with a silver like hue. I usually seek out pigments that give off more than 1 color, and Secret Weapon seemed to do just that. I would not know though, how well it worked till I got home to actually use it.

My Use:

I first applied my base color to my eyelid, which is a smokey gray. I then add the color of my choice and blend for a 3 hue effect that always grabs compliments.

Secret Weapon worked just as I had imagined; flawlessly. The color it gives off it a beautiful shiny light blue. It's like a color you would find in a fairytale, beautiful, attention grabbing yet and soft and subtle at the same time. The silver hues show when you move around giving this color exactly what I had wanted from it. 2 hues in 1. Like a hypnotic little show for your eyelids.

Overall:

Jesse's Girl Eye Dust in Secret Weapon is a beautiful color, it is light yet bright and attention grabbing. The color also lasts and does not crease up in your eyelids. What makes it really neat besides its double hue in color, is that if you wet the eye dust you can use it as eyeliner, or an eyeliner topping to really play with different makeup techniques. Like a 2 in 1. Dry as eyeshadow, and wet a thin brush to use it as a liner.

It comes to $3.99 and you can find it mostly at drugstores like Rite Aide. It's definitely worth seeking out.
