Review of L'Oreal Paris, Extra Intense, Liquid Pencil Eyeliner- Black

Lately I have been going crazy looking for my usual brand of eyeliner. Revlon makes the best eyeliner pens I have yet to come across, and apparently the rest of the world is aware of that, as they never seem to have blackest black in stock.

Left with no other choice I decided to give L'Oreal's new Extra Intense, Liquid Pencil Eyeliner, in the color black. Initially I thought that it was a twist up application pencil, due to the fact that the way they had sharpened the pencil. It had a sunk in effect, but when I opened the package, it was actually just a pencil, which personally I never liked.

At any rate, the package basically said that it was to go on smoothly like a liquid eyeliner pen would, and dry smudge proof and flawlessly.

I was just hoping that the color would be a nice deep shade of black, and that it would stay put for the majority of the day, without having to consistently re-apply it.

My Use:

Once home, I went ahead and gave the pencil a try. Granted it works, and glides on easily as promised, it still felt much more rough than my usual brand by Revlon. I also was not too thrilled with the smokey like black color. I had to apply layer after layer in order to get the black to really look black. It went on more like a charcoal color, which was disappointing.

As far as calling this one a liquid eyeliner pencil, I'd have to disagree. It feels just as an eyeliner pencil would. As far as calling Extra Intense, Liquid Pencil Eyeliner- Black 'smudge proof', again I would have to disagree. The eyeliner does smudge, and it begins to fade and leak off at the corners of my eyes, which really puts a damper on the entire thing.

The biggest downfall is the price. I spent nearly $8.00 on this pencil, and I am not all too fond of it. When you spend that much money on eyeliner, you expect it to work, and work well. This eyeliner pencil however is just another run of the mill mediocre cosmetic.

Would I Recommend It?

Sorry no. I can't say that I would. I would however recommend Revlon's ColorStay line, that is, if you can actually find it.
