After receiving my Winter Bath Bomb from Lush, I was beyond confused, as
my particular bath bomb did not have a mini slip in it reading 'Winter
Bath Ballistic'; instead it was labeled as Hokkaido, which after looking
it up online, I as able to find that Lush did not make a mistake, they
just oddly have 2 names for this one, so all of you who plan on ordering
it, make a note that Winter Bath is also Hokkaido. Why? Well that is
Lush's secret. I'd sincerely like to know myself though.
Anyhow, Winter Bath is described as having a nice ginger note to it,
and when it arrived it did not look like anything special. It was a
light green color, with small flecks of something that I could not make
out until it began to fizz away in the bathtub.
On the Lush site the bomb is more white, and flecked with what appears
to be orange and green flecks. My particular Winter Bath began to
fizzle and pop on contact releasing a nice frothy white foam to the top
layer of the water.
After picking it up the small flecks seemed to be some sort of gel
like substance. They melted away quickly, but at first they had such a
neat green ice look that I thought it was hard candy. Rest assured,
there is no hard candy in this one that you will have to clean up later.
For such a small bath bomb, I was surprised that it lasted and
delivered as much as it did. I ordered this one on a whim and seeing
that it was so much smaller than the other bath ballistics in my order, I
was not expecting much from it. It delivered a relaxing, fragrance
filled bath however, just as powerfully as Lush's larger bombs.
Scent:
The scent is a nice potent spiced ginger that you will love even if
ginger is not much of a fragrance you care for. As the bomb melts the
ginger notes grow stronger, and more delightful. Besides just that
though, Winter Bath also makes the water grow softer, and silkier, which
provide such a lovely soothing feeling to your skin.
The water itself had turned from clear, to a lovely little cloudy
white, with just a hint of blue to it, which was odd because my
particular bath bomb was green in overall color.
The scent sadly does not stay with you after stepping out of the tub
and drying off. It's a bath tome delight, but unfortunately won't
continue to delight the senses with its fragrance. The moisturizing
feeling however will delight you, as it will leave your skin feeling
beyond soft and refreshed, and this is a nice feeling that will last for
hours.
Overall:
All in all I would rate Winter Bath a 4 out of 5 stars. Minus 1 star for the lack of lasting scent.
