When I first got my nostrils caught up in the wondrous whirlwind of new
Perry Ellis Night, a fragrance for men, I was thrilled to have been
given a sample of Perry Ellis Platinum Label. I hoped it would
deliver a similar twist to Night, only more elusive, refined and
naturally platinum. So how does this one weigh in?
First the bottle. I love the bottle of Perry Ellis Platinum Label.
It's got this high beam silver finish, which some of you may recall
seeing on JLO After Dark Glow, a unisex fragrance. The Perry Ellis
Platinum Label bottle has that same eye catching mirror glaze to it,
which I am sure will be worthy of saving even once the perfume is all
drained out.
The Scent
Sadly, for me, this is where Perry Ellis Platinum Label fails to
impress. A nifty eye catching bottle fails to pack a nifty scent in its
pretty shell. It is not necessarily a bad scent, it is just one that has
been done over and over again. A fragrance you can find in Calvin
Klein, Usher, and mobs of other designer fragrances for men.
I cannot blame Perry Ellis though, they are just following the trend
of what is in, and what is making sales. However if you were looking for
some new unique spin on fragrances for me, stick to your old school CK
fragrances.
Last:
Where some make the mark, and other fail to impress when it comes to
long lasting scent, Perry Ellis Platinum Label makes the mark and passes
with flying colors, as this scent will stick around for quite some
time. A few squirts on a jacket and you will still take in whiffs of the
scent a day later.
Overall:
All in all Platinum Label is a decent scent. Is it one to go wild
over? Far from it, as you will recognize it as all too familiar the
moment you sniff in traces of it.
