Tips on Growing Long, Beautiful, Healthy Hair

I cut my hair last summer. I loved it at first, but hated it shortly after falling in love with it. I found out the hard way that maintaining short hair was more difficult than maintaining long hair.

Since cutting my hair into a very short bob last summer, I managed to grow my hair back to mid-back length. I am lucky that way though, my hair grows fast. For others, growing long hair can take a heck of a lot more time.

Some really interesting products though have been released that could help you grow hair longer, stronger, and faster. However there are steps you can take that are absolutely free.

First tip: When conditioning your hair, massage your scalp to ensure blood flow to the hair follicles.
For shampooing, you could pick up a bottle of Mane and Tail. It is designed for horses, but I have come across it time and time again on sale at Walmart for under $5.00. It comes in a shabby looking bottle, but it truly will allow your hair to grow longer, and faster.

Using a very good moisturizing conditioner will also help to ensure faster growing hair. Dry parched hair breaks a lot easier than healthy moisturized hair does. Healthier hair will grow faster.

Nexxus Moisturizing Conditioner is one of my top favorite conditioner when it comes to providing me with soft, healthy, and strong hair.

Another easy solution to keeping hair strong and healthy is a good tip my mom gave me as a child. Braid your hair before you go to bed!

My hair when braided before bed looks is best when the braid is undone in the morning. Not only does it protect my hair from snarls as I sleep, but it also gives me a gorgeous wavy style.

The best way to go about this is to braid slightly damp hair before bed.

In order for hair to grow longer and healthier you will also want to avoid hot irons, or high heat setting hair tools. Blow drying will lead to very dry brittle hair, curling irons, and straight irons could also lead to slower growing hair, and will also damage hair if not properly taken care of. Steering clear of chemicals in your hair is also a good tip. Over use of hair spray, and gels cause build up, which result in hair that is not quite as healthy as it could be.

Last but not least, the easiest way to ensure good healthy strong hair would be to trim your dead ends if you notice them.

Of course the most obvious solution would be to not cut your hair! Do trim dead ends if you notice them, but avoid the scissors if you plan on growing yourself long hair.
