Beauty Review: Calvin Klein, Obsession Silkening Body Lotion

I've always been a fan of body lotions; anything that smells good, and has the power to make me smell good, I'm on board.

When I came across a bottle of Calvin Klein, Obsession Silkening Body Lotion at a local thrift store that looked like it was never even used I had to scoop it up. Besides, for $1.00 you really cannot get better, especially seeing that a bottle of this stuff would cost close to $40.00 at the store.

Although Calvin Klein is not my all time favorite designer brand of scents, I could not pass the deal up. The bottle itself is a little awkward though, especially considering the fact that it is lotion. Most lotions I buy come in easy to squeeze plastic rubbery tubes.

Calvin Klein, Obsession Silkening Body Lotion comes in an awkward bulb shaped hard plastic bottle, with a black twist off cap.

The plastic bottle is very hard and I knew that it was going to be a pain in the butt to shake the lotion out. I recalled using Calvin Klein Obsession Body Wash, and it came in the same exact annoying hard plastic tube. I guess the fellas who created the bottles wanted to stick to making sure everything in the Obsession line looked alike. As attractive as they may of thought it was when they made it, they failed to realize how stupid placing body wash or lotion in such a hard container was.

At home I didn't wait to apply the lotion. The moment I got home, I twisted off the cap and shook some of the silkening lotion out into my palms.

The lotion itself is nothing really impressive. It's got a standard plain white color to it, with a standard lotion like texture to it. Not to runny, nor too thick.

The lotion itself spread onto the skin easily, and absorbs quickly.

The scent however I was not all too fond of. It smelled masculine, with a hint of leather, and fresh cut tree bark. It's a very many scent, but at the same rate, as awkward as it is it's not too bad. If you enjoy earthy scents than this lotion will definitely impress you with it's strong masculine qualities.

As far as leaving my skin feeling silky, the lotion simply fails. As soon as I applied it, it did in fact leave my skin feeling slightly softer and moisturized, but as soon as the lotion absorbed and dried into my skin the softening agents evaporated with it.

Most lotions that are made to match the sister perfume are like this though. They smell great, but don't moisturize or do anything beneficiary to your skin. All of them however leave your skin kissed with the fragrance, and the fragrance lasts a long time, so I'm not complaining.

If you are looking for long lasting scent, than I would recommend Calvin Klein, Obsession Silkening Body Lotion to you.

If you are looking for something to soften and silken skin though, I'd suggest skipping out all together.
