Beauty Review: Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion

I have always suffered from oily skin. I have also tried many different means to control this oily skin of mine, from blotting pads, lotions, creams and medicated formulas that have all promised the same; to control oil skin. Out of everything I have ever tried, only around 15% actually work well enough for me to actually recommend them.

I have used Eau Thermale products for awhile now, and when I came across Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion, I had to scoop up a tube just to see if it would actually work. You see I have used their acne products with decent results, and when I saw Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion being recommended in reviews, I wanted to try it.

Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion comes in Avene's standard plastic squeeze tube, with the official Avene logo smack dab on the tube all bold and brightly colored orange. The lotion is easy to distinguish that it is part of Avene's collection.

The lotion comes in a 1.35 ounce tube, and personally I found the tube to be a little bit too small for the price attached to it. When I spend close to $20 for lotion, I expect just a wee bit more than just 1.35 ounces, because I go through lotions like runners go through water.

My Use:

I squeezed the tube to allow a decent amount of the lotion to flow. I was surprised at its clear silicone like coloring. I was imagining Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion to look like a standard white lotion, but it's far from it. It actually looks more like Vick's Vapor Rub, or lube, than it does a facial lotion.

At any rate though I applied it to my face after applying makeup. Left behind on my hands after rubbing the lotion in was a thin slippery greasy like film that I did not like. On my face though I didn't feel anything of the sort. So it was weird that it instantly absorbed into the skin on my face, and not my hands. It was as if the pores on my face sucked the lotion right up. Hopefully that was a good thing.

History:

Now when it comes to many oil controlling lotions I have used in the past, many of them would leave my skin feeling very dry, and sometimes would even leave behind dry patches of skin because the formula was too harsh. Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion though states that it was tested on sensitive skin, and that it is safe for those with sensitive skin.

I must say I would have to agree. Although I don't have sensitive skin, I will say that the lotion if very gentle, and never did it leave my skin feeling tight, or dried out and parched.

Did it though control oil?

Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion did a pretty nice job at keeping my face oil free. Usually I break out with an oily forehead by mid-afternoon, and with Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion this did not occur. The oil controlling aspects were long lasting. In fact probably the longest lasting oil controlling lotion I have ever used, and believe me, I've used a LOT of different products. None have had better results than Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion.

I figured while I was busy praising how well Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion worked, I may as well mention the scent. I absolutely hated Eau Thermale Avene acne products scents, so I was pretty shocked at how lovely Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion smelled!

It has a very light fragrance that is fresh and clean like the way air smells after rainfall. Spa like, and lasting.

Overall:

Love it! I highly highly recommend Eau Thermale Avene, Cleanance K Oil Control Lotion to anyone who suffers from oily skin. This formula is long lasting, works over time, and smells fantastic. It does not dry out skin, or leave it feeling tight, dry, or greasy. A 5 star oil controlling product.

Where To Buy:

You can pick up this exact tube at Drugstore.com for $18.00. It's well worth that price in my opinion. You will spend more money trying to find one product that might actually work, when this one will work.
