I used to have hair that flowed all the way down past my rear end. As
much as I loved my hair though, I also found that someone else would
love my hair even more. I chopped my long luscious locks off and donated
it to Locks of Love.
I knew it was a for an extremely good cause, but at the same rate, I
had never in my life sported short locks before, and at first I honestly
did not know what the heck to do with it. It was too short to tie back
for days when I was too lazy to style it, so I had no other choice but
to style it.
I found pretty quickly though that styling my new short locks was
actually a heck of a lot easier than it was to style my hair when it was
crazy long.
One of the easiest styles I used to do time and time again was to
straighten my short hair with a thin 1" hair straightener. After my hair
was straight, I simply used the thin iron to flip my ends so they would
hug my face.
Basically I was able to create a simple bob look by just using a
straight iron. You have to make sure though that you buy the thinner 1"
straight iron, that will allow you to somewhat curl ends. Click for an example.
Another quick and easy simple look also requires the straight iron. I
used to iron flat my hair, and then part it to the side. A barrette on
both sides added volume and depth to my hair. Not only that it was the
fastest and easiest style to achieve (plus it looks damn cute).
A cloth headband also goes great for those of us with short hair. It
pushes hair out of your face for when you don't feel like bothering with
it all that much.
Paris Hilton is seen here in this photograph wearing the cloth headband in her short locks.
You can also splurge a little bit and buy a coach brand cloth hair tie. I especially like these because they hang down a little bit at the back of your neck.
Lauren Conrad pretty much made this look desirable in The Hills, when she was caught wearing these cloth bands in nearly every episode.
One of the fastest and easiest styles for short hair would be to part
your hair a little off center, and pulling two relaxed pig tails to the
back of your head.
You can tie each pig tail with a thin black band, or with a band that includes some sort of small rhinestone jewel on it.
The look is cute, casual, and has been seen worn by Paris Hilton and
Vanessa Hudgens. Do not pull pigtails up too high though, otherwise
you'll end up looking like an idiot. The high pigtails is for little
kids! Adults sporting high tails look like sleazy strippers.
One final quick and easy look that those with short hair can easily achieve is simply curling it. No need for an iron!
You will simply need to dampen your hair, and add a small handful of
Dep hair gel. Once you have evenly spread the gel throughout hair, you
now just have to scrunch it, and let it dry. The curls will dry soft,
and will add a ton of volume to your short hair. The look is cute, and
has yet to go out of style.
The look will end up looking something like this. However you can pull it together by adding a rhinestone barrette, or a head band like shown above.
Styling short hair is easy and fast.
I personally have had an easier time styling my short hair, than I ever had with my long hair
