Guerlain Divinora Mascara- Brun Braise #31

I use mascara daily, and go through tubes of it pretty quickly. When I was given a tube of Guerlain Divinora Mascara I was thrilled because not only was it free, but it appeared to be some high end cosmetic that I had never used before, nor would I likely even come across at any local store where I frequent.

Guerlain Divinora Mascara comes in a beautiful golden metal tube that will make you feel like a queen just by holding it. The mascara also comes in a tube that is shaped like no other mascara I have ever come across. In my opinion it resembles a woman's body, but you can decide for yourself by taking a look at photos located here.

The Mascara:

Brun Braise #31 is a dark amber colored mascara and is pretty gorgeous on first inspection, and I hoped it would be able to apply the visual color on top of my black eye lashes without it being dull or faded looking.

The brush is long and the bristles of the brush spiral around the application stick. It's a pretty common shaped bristle so there is really nothing spectacular to report here.

The Promise:

According to the manufacturer, using Guerlain Divinora Mascara- Brun Braise #31 will lengthen lashes due to its smoothing brush. The spiral bristles will supposedly latch to each lash creating a curve.
Yeah, yeah... we shall see!

My Use:

I dipped the wand into the tube and began applying the mascara. I found the mascara to be a little dry and rough, and immediately it did begin to clump, which sucked, because I ended up having to pick out a few clumps left behind that I couldn't brush out.

The color did however cover my lashes, and you could clearly tell that I was wearing an amber colored mascara, that did in fact look quite thick and natural. That is... after I picked out the clumps.

Overall Feelings:

For me, Guerlain Divinora Mascara- Brun Braise #31 is just okay. It clumps up like most mascaras do, and it feels a little dry when applying. However the color is rich, thickening, and looks fantastic (after you pick out clumps of course).

Recommended?

Although I do not hate the mascara, I can't highly recommend it because it is far to over priced, at $27.00 per tube. You can pick a tube up if you are interested still at any local Sephora's or online at Sephora.com. The price will remain the same.
