I have been given quite a few freebies from my Uncle in my time, and
NARS has alway been a particular name brand product that I seem to
receive from him time after time. When it comes to NARS, for me, it has
always been a hit or miss product.
When I was given NARS Jungle Red Nail Polish though, I figured, 'hey it's nail polish, you really can't screw up nail polish!'
Appearance:
NARS Jungle Red Nail Polish comes in a square shaped glass bottle,
with the official NARS logo scrawled in black print down the bottles
side. You can clearly see the color through the glass. Duh! The lid top
is a standard screw off lid, with a basic wand attached to the lid.
Color:
Jungle Red is not necessarily a red red that one would imagine when
thinking of the color red. It to me has a more pink and purplish tone to
it. Overall the color is gorgeous, but I don't think Jungle Red quite
fits the nail polishes actual color. If anything I'd lean more towards
calling it pink, than red.
Set Time:
The thing with nail polishes that have always annoyed me is the amount
of time it takes the polish to dry. I have always been a fan of L'Oreal
Jet Set nail polishes because these particular polishes dry in record
times.
Well NARS Jungle Red Nail Polish also did a pretty decent job of
impressing me when it comes to dry time. My nails were fully dry in less
than 5 minutes. I was pretty impressed! The less time I have to worry
about smudging my nails, the more time I have to get things done that I
actually need to be doing. So NARS Jungle Red Nail Polish definitely
gets 5 stars when it comes to drying time.
Pricing and Availability:
NARS Jungle Red Nail Polish can be found in Sephora stores, or online
at Sephoras.com, or Saks Fifth Avenue. The price will set you back
around $16.00 which in my opinion is way way too over priced for nail
polish.
Overall:
Although I find NARS Jungle Red Nail Polish to be a great fast drying
nail polish, I also find that the price is way to high for me to
recommend it, especially seeing how you can pick up some Jet Set for
$6.00 or less. Now had the price been set more fairly, I'd say yes, for
sure go out and get some. Till then though, I'd have to recommend
skipping.
