How L'Oreal Feria, Desert Flower 82, Medium Ash Blond, Hair Dye Looks on Dark Brown Hair

I have been rocking dark dark locks for close to a year now. I started off with a very bold black color, and found that although the color was gorgeous, it was at the same time, far too dark looking for my skin tone.

After going through a dark and dreary phases, I lightened my hair up a bit and turned it a deeper dark brown. Sort of like chestnut, espresso, and some amber highlights.

However with Spring quickly approaching, I figured I would go back to my original blond roots. I knew though that achieving blond hair once again would be difficult, because now that my hair was very dark, I had the huge issue of it turning Ronald red, instead of blond.

I didn't want to go too blond, because I figured the massive change would be too much to get used to all at once. I figured I'd go blond, but I'd get there slowly, so I started off with L'Oreal Feria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Colour 3x Highlights, Permanent, Desert Flower 82, which according to the box, would not brig out red, or orange tones. I figured if anything would get my hair lighter, it would be this stuff, because I have never had any issues with hair dye when it comes to L'Oreals name brand.

In the box of #82 Medium Ash Blond, there was a bottle of color to add to the bottle of dye. The kit also included a packet of shimmer, which is also to be added to the dye. Also included were 2 gloves, and a nice sized tube of after dye shimmer conditioner.

After mixing all of the formulas together, I then put on my gloves, and got to adding the formula to my hair. As of now my hair is short, but very thick. Thankfully there was enough dye in the kit to cover my hair. If you have long hair, or thick medium length hair, than I suggest you buy 2 boxes, because one will not be enough.

Once I had the dye evenly spread through my locks, I then placed a plastic Target bag over my head to conceal humidity and heat. It aids in getting the color into hair faster and more evenly.

I left the bag on my head for around 20 minutes, and sporadically checked underneath for results.
As time went on, I noticed my dark locks changing lighter and lighter gradually. Once I my hair looked the desired color, I then hit the shower, and rinsed out.

My dark hair was no more; a thing of the past, adiós, gone, sianara...

My dark brown hair transformed into a nice golden honey color, and I absolutely loved the results. I was thinking that my hair would look orange, especially considering that it was so dark. Fortunately my dark locks lightened up into a nice, even color. There is no streaking, no cross checks of dark hair color, and no missed strands.

In about a month or so, I plan on going even lighter. However to lessen the shock of it being so dramatically light, I am glad I went with L'Oreal Feria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Colour 3x Highlights, Permanent, Desert Flower 82 first. It gave me a chance to get used to the new transformation, and I love it.

If you have dark hair, and you gradually want to go light, I highly recommend this one to you. I lighten you right up, without the ugly Ronald McDonald red lights.
