Popular Winter Hairstyles for Women with Long Hair

Long hair is a blessing during cooler winter months, believe me. Last year I chopped off all of my hair before winter, and my neck froze all winter long.

This year my hair is much longer and I am grateful because as the weather cools down, my hair actually works as a blanket for my neck.

Wearing long hair down during winter months naturally is a popular trend, due to the fact that it keeps you warm. Other hairstyles for women with long hair during harsh winter months include letting the hair down, but styled into a fun, curly style.

Curling long hair can be done a few ways, but one of the easiest and quickest fail proof ways to curling long hair is to simply take a shower, towel dry hair, and add a lot of LA Looks Hair Gel. Once you have saturated your hair in the gel, you can now scrunch it from the tips to the scalp.

At first the hair may not look too curly, but as it dries it will spring up into wavy, fun curls. Best of all, the gel will keep frizz away.

Braids in the winter are also equally popular, although they won't protect you as much from the cold, braids are flattering.

You can french braid your hair, or you can braid it the simple old fashioned way. High braids are more popular during summer months. For winter months keep the braid loose, hanging down along the neck.
Other popular winter hairstyles for women with long flowing hair include straightening the hair.

During winter months static is more likely to occur on straightened hair, but a quick swipe with some frizz ease, and it should take care of the problem. What makes hair so spectacular during winter months is that it is less likely to frizz up due to how dry the air becomes. Hair will also look, and feel silkier.

Straight hair in humid summer months is more prone to frizz, and quickly looking greasy.

Headbands are also popular during cold winter months. You can buy thick ones that will cover your ears, or you can even buy bands that come with built in ear muffs that not only look cute, but will protect your ears from the cold.

Hats of course become popular during winter months, so a hat on top of your dew is acceptable during this time of year. Pulling the hair into loose pigtails is also flattering no matter how young or old you are. Pigtails poking out at the sides of a warm winter hat is adorable as well.

When it comes to styling hair during harsh winter months, remember that being warm is mostly what is important, but being warm does not mean you have to have messy hair during this time of year. Don't just hide your messy locks under a thick hat. Keep things neat, simple, and fun. Also remember to moisturize your hair more than you normally would.
