During the holidays, women with long hair have so many fun options when
it comes to styling their hair. From the casual 'let it hand loose', to
the formal and feminine french braid up-do.
During holiday parties women with long hair can wear their hair down
in long wavy curls, or they can place hair up in a formal high bun.
Garnish your locks with a nice holiday themed hair pin, and wallah, you
look stunning!
Besides a bun, you can braid your hair in a simple long hanging loose
braid, or you can tighten it up with a long formal french braid.
For some extra pizazz you can even add small gemstone clips to the
braid. If tying your hair up in a bun is the option you want to go with
during the holidays, think about possibly cupping your bun in a bun
holder. Bun holders hold the bun in a net like clip which is usually
decorated formally.
A nice example can be found here, and here.
Pulling the hair back at the sides and clipping it into place is a
casual style you can go with as well. Not only is the look elegant, but
its also easily done with 2 hair clips, or barrettes. I like using
holiday themed clips such as snowflakes for added holiday flair.
The snowflake hair pins seen here
can be used in braids, and to decorate buns as well. They can be used
for both casual and formal wear. The glistening icy stones are sure to
grab you some compliments.
For those of you with pin straight long hair, you may want to add some
flirty curls at the ends of your hair. If your hair is difficult to
curl, you can always use hair wax before curling the hair. Hair wax will
hold the curls in place and keep them in place.
You can find hair wax at nearly every superstore, and for the most
part many of them work really well. A personal favorite of mine is FX Molding Wax.
Long hair during winter months tend to suffer a bit more than usual.
As the air becomes dry, hair can become brittle, and full of static. A
quick fix for this issue is to be sure to use extra moisturizing hair
products such as shampoo, conditioner, and hair moisturizing balms.
Nexxus sells some really nice moisturizing products that you should
definitely consider.
