Review: Garnier Fructis Style, Full Control, Anti-Humidity Hairspray

I use hairspray daily, and primarily my favorite hairspray comes from aerosol cans that are expensive. Other low priced hairsprays work really well, but I find that the more money I spend on them, the longer the hold lasts.

This past week though I didn't feel like spending $18.00 on hairspray and when I came across a new bottle of hairspray by Garnier Fructis I went ahead and picked it up. Normally I love products Garnier has available, so I assumed I would like their newly introduced Garnier Fructis, Style, Full Control Anti-Humidity Hairspray.

With an introductory price of just $4.89, I figured I'd try it out, and save myself a bunch of money.
In the store I sprayed a bit of the hairspray out and loved the smell. It had such a clean and feminine fruity scent to it, that I knew would likely stick around.

So far everything seemed perfect. A nice low price, and a delicious fruity scent.

Unfortunately the hairspray was awful, and I ended up having to go back to the store to return it and buy my usual brand.

What Made It Fail?

First and foremost the main reason this hairspray headed back to the store I bought it from was the fact that the hold sucked. When I first sprayed it into my hair I liked how the hold felt. It was keeping my style put, while keeping my hair looking and feeling soft.

Unfortunately the hold fell flat after just 30 minutes of spraying it into my hair. I don't bring my hairspray to work with me, so I was stuck with loose hair all day, which I cannot stand. Hairspray for me needs to work in order to keep my hair pushed back without any ugly frizz popping up.

The second deal killer was the fact that I was noticing white flakes throughout my hair in about an hour.

The third deal killer was the fact that the hairspray did not protect me from having puffy hair. Puffy hair is usually due to humidity, and this hairspray was made with the promise of Anti-Humidity attached right on to the can. Fail!

The one thing I noted that was nice about the spray was that it did leave behind the fruity fragrance in your hair, which is really nice.

After taking a look online about what others were saying about this hairspray, I was surprised to see that many were praising it and, I think I know why!

They do not have thick wavy hair like I do. Basically to me this means that this hairspray will work wonders on those with straight thin hair types. For women with thicker locks like me, I recommend avoiding it. It will not do what it promises on those with thick hair.
