I have never used a cleansing lotion before La Mer, as the entire
concept seemed Greek to me, or too messy. I never though rubbing a
lotion on to the skin would cleanse it fully, and after seeing how La Mer, The Cleansing Lotion had written their directions on how to use this stuff, I nearly passed it up.
It is stated that you can put the lotion on and use a tissue to wipe
it away; now something about that rubbed me the wrong way, and I felt
the skin would not get clean if you were to just tissue it off of my
face. However they also state that you can rinse it off. The way I was
going to use it.
Now I am a makeup junkie and my very first task using La Mer The
Cleansing Lotion would be to apply it to my skin and tissue it off to
see how much makeup it actually was capable of wiping away.
Tickle me impressed, because La Mer, The Cleansing Lotion managed to
easily swipe all traces of my makeup off of my face, gently, and with
ease.
Oddly enough, even after doing just this, my skin did in fact feel
very clean and their were no traces of film or residue left behind like I
imagined there would be. I rinsed with warm water afterward though,
just to be sure nothing would be left behind that could cause breakouts.
Overall:
I was not expecting La Mer The Cleansing Lotion to work as perfectly
as it did. This was my first use in cleaning my face off using a lotion
and not a cleanser or exfoliator, and frankly I am in love with it.
The best thing about this one is that you do not need to use a whole
lot of the lotion to get it to really work for you, a few dabs is all it
took, and the bottle comes in 6.7 ounces so there is enough to last you
about a half year, which totally justifies the pricing, as you would
spend more money restocking on cheap run of the mill cleansers.
