I dye my hair once every 2 or 3 months, and as much as I love the hair
colors included tube of conditioner, for women like me, that small tube
is not even nearly enough for one conditioning treatment. These
conditioners however are fantastic, and really smooth, silken, and leave
hair moisturized, which is especially needed after a color treatment.
During winter months after dyeing my hair, I noticed that it would be
drier feeling than usual, and I needed something that would perk my hair
back to its normal moisturized healthy ways. I tried high end
conditioners, and even tried those masques, that you are to leave in
your hair for 3 to 5 minutes.
Although many of them worked great, I
didn't have the time to dedicate an hour every other day letting a hair
masque set in my dry hair.
About 2 months ago I picked up a tube of L'Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Conditioner.
It sat in my cabinet for awhile, and I finally got around to using it
this week after I decided to dye my hair again. I always have things
lying around, but this one had gone completely unforgotten due to the
huge bottle of TIGI I was still using.
Now the bottle only ran me $5.00 on sale. I believe I picked it up at
Marshall's, but I'm not entirely sure about where it was purchased, as I
picked it up so long ago. At any rate, it does not matter, because I
wouldn't recommend rushing out to get it anyway; and here is why:
I used it once, and hated it.
The scent however is really lovely, but it smells just like Umberto Beverly Hills.
It's an angelic powdery musk fragrance that is highly addictive, but
this conditioner works so poorly, that the lovely scent cannot make up
for the product itself.
First and foremost, if you happen to come across this one, read the
label closely, it's done up in 2 different languages, and you may
accidentally think you are buying shampoo, when it is really a
conditioner...or so it says it's a conditioner. They sure could have
fooled me.
I shampooed my hair as I usually do, and squeezed out some of the L'Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Conditioner.
The texture was runny, really runny, it seriously had the same texture a
runny suntan lotion would have. It was close to impossible to saturate
it in my hair without having to use half of the entire tube.
The conditioner is not thick, so it's like pouring water into your
hair. It does not spread out at all, where you pour it, is where it
stays. It's completely worthless to even try and get the conditioner
into your hand to spread it out, it just pours all over the place, and
will run down your hand.
So with that said, pouring half a bottle into my hair, you would think
I got some sort of magical results. Well, no, no results at all. My
hair was drier than before using it.
Overall:
L'Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Conditioner is a runny waste of
money. Half a bottle and I saw no results. My hair was actually in worse
condition after using it. I would suggest staying far away from this
overpriced gunk.
