Review: Longing Perfume for Women, by Coty

I've never really been a hardcore fan of fragrances made by Coty. I've found the majority of them to be overpowering, and too old fashioned for my personal liking. Recently though, I came upon a perfume for women that I actually liked, and believe it or not it was by Coty.

I came across Longing Perfume for women on my mom's dresser. It seems that every time I look at her dresser top she's managed to add 4 or 5 new fragrances to her ever growing collection. She picks them up at a local thrift store for only $1.00 per bottle, and she's been really lucky with her finds, because she has come across antique bottles of fragrances worth a lot of money.

Longing is not a high end perfume, but for $1.00 you cannot beat it, especially seeing that it normally goes for around $20-$30.

Longing comes in an odd abstract artsy type of bottle. Its glass bottom is an odd design. It looks like a standard half oval cut bottle, only one side of the bottle seems to be stretched out more than the other side. The cap is made with the same stretched odd shape, but is a frosty colored white.

The Scent:

When I came across the bottle I imagined that the scent would smell as old fashioned as the weird bottle, however, as soon I spritzed some of it on, I was surprised at the sugary, feminine scent that came blasting out of the nozzle.

Longing is described as a refreshing fragrance with notes of violet, mimosa, rose, orange, vanilla, musk, oak moss and amber accords.

All in all though I primarily was inhaling a lovely blend of thick sugary powder. Sort of like that nice scent a Dunkin Donuts powdered donut would give off.

I was not expecting Coty to deliver such an attractive, modern scent.

Last:

Now when it comes to fragrance strength, it can either make or break a good perfume. If something smells delicious, yet has no last, the perfume is pointless in my opinion.

Longing surprisingly stuck around for a good amount of time. Spraying some on in the morning, and by mid-afternoon the sugary musk like notes of fragrance are still detectable. The scent is much lighter, but it is still easily detected.

Overall:

Longing by Coty is a winner in my book. It's an addicting feminine scent, lasts all day, and is priced at a really affordable rate.

You can pick up a 1 ounce bottle of Longing online at PerfumeNetwork.com for only $14.99, which is a steal if you ask me.
