Review: New Neutrogena, Deep Clean Relaxing Nightly Scrub

Whenever I run out of facial scrub, I will usually buy something new. Every time I go to the store there is something new, and this time I discovered something new from Neutrogena. I usually like their facial scrubs, so when I came across Neutrogena Deep Clean Relaxing Nightly Scrub I was excited. I had never before seen a scrub that was designed to be used at night.

I usually use facial scrubs at night, so I was excited to see how it would work.

Basically Neutrogena, Deep Clean Relaxing Nightly Scrub, promises to wash away the days impurities. Dirt, oil, makeup and environmental pollutants.

The scrub contains gentle micro-beads, that will lightly scrape away impurities. You are actually able to see the micro-beads through the plastic squeeze tube. The formula itself has a nice lavender color to it, and the bottle contains 4.2 ounces of the scrub, so there was enough in there to last me the majority of the month.

When I got home, I went to the bathroom to try out my new find. I first lightly wet my face in order to let the scrub circulate around my skin easier. I squeezed the bottle with a small amount of pressure, and way, way too much of the scrub fell into my hand. I had to make a note to be more gentle with it. The dispensing hole is a little larger than what I was used to.

I could feel the beads lightly exfoliating my skin as I scrubbed it around my face. I knew it was doing a good job before even rinsing, but I also knew that the micro-beads were a little too large, and a little to weak to really exfoliate my skin thoroughly.

After rinsing and patting my skin dry, my face did feel very, very smooth, and very clean. Makeup though was still present on my face, and small purple/teal micro-beads were scattered throughout my hairline, which was annoying to have to pick out.

Long Term Use:

I have used scrubs that are capable of cleaning every nook and cranny of my face, right down to my waterproof eyeliner. Neutrogena, Deep Clean Relaxing Nightly Scrub cleans and leaves the skin feeling smooth, but it does not really clean as well as other scrubs can. It leaves behind makeup, and if it leaves behind makeup it makes you wonder what else it leaves behind. I found that after 2 weeks of using Neutrogena, Deep Clean Relaxing Nightly Scrub I was getting more break outs than usual.

Overall:

If you have sensitive skin and don't use makeup, then by all means go for it. For those of you who use makeup daily, and need a good scrub to really clean every pore on your face, this one is not for you.
