After falling madly deeply in love with Nexxus Dualiste Conditioner,
I wanted to try out the newly formulated shampoo. The Dualiste products
are a bit high priced, but frankly, if you want your hair to be as
healthy as possible, then I would highly recommend them. At any rate, a
few days after trying and falling for the conditioner, I returned home
with a bottle of Nexxus Dualiste Color Protection Anti-Breakage Shampoo.
Like the conditioner, the shampoo also comes in with two separate
chambers of shampoo fused together. When you pres the top applicator the
bottle releases two different shampoos. One is a pearly white color
while the other is a nice spring colored purple. One is used to protect
hair from breakage, while the other protects your color. It is designed
mostly for those with color treated hair, however it can be used for
those who do not color treat their hair, but want to protect hair from
breakage.
My Use:
In the shower I found the pump to be a little difficult to use, as the
shampoo is relatively thick. It took a lot of pumping on the applicator
to get just a small amount of the shampoo out. The conditioner worked
easily and slid the formula out with no effort, the shampoo however
actually sucked when it came to getting it out of the pump. I truly
think Nexxus needs to work out this annoying kink, because let me tell
you due to this I would actually re-consider purchasing it again.
Anyhow, the scent is very nice with a candy and sugar like zing to it,
which I liked. I do find that the regular moisturizing conditioner by
Nexxus has a much nicer coconut tropics scent to it. Dualiste is nice,
but really not the best scented shampoo I have ever come across.
After pumping the applicator to death, I finally had enough shampoo in
my palm to use it. It lathers really quickly and nicely, and when
rinsing it out I could already feel how soft and silky it was going to
leave my hair once I got out and dried off.
My assumptions were correct, Nexxus Dualiste Color Protection
Anti-Breakage Shampoo definitely left my hair very smooth, and very
silky. I loved how it also kept frizz away.
All in all it was an excellent experience, and the results were
superb, however due to the aggravation of the pump I honestly would skip
out on buying it again. I find that Nexxus original formula shampoo
works just as well as the Dualiste shampoo, only the original bottles
are easily squeezed to get the shampoo out of the bottle.
If you want to struggle with the annoying pump than I say go ahead,
because the shampoo is really wonderful. Unfortunately I think after a
few uses, you too will find the applicator pump to be a headache. Not
only is ts design a headache, but it also does not pump out the last
inch of shampoo. Seeing that there is no way to screw off the lid to get
at it, you end up wasting a good portion of it, which sucks considering
the high $11-$13 price tag associated with it.
