Review: Nirvae Botanicals, Cedarwood & Sage Bath Soap

I'm a bath junkie, and usually Lush bath products are all I ever really use when it comes to taking a bath, or bubble bath. However, after recently being given a bar of Nirvae Botanicals, Cedarwood & Sage Bath Soap, I knew I'd try it, even though it wasn't my usual brand of Lush soap.

Nirvae Botanicals, Cedarwood & Sage Bath Soap though is not really something I'd pick up had I come across it myself at a store. I find the soap to be extremely hard, a bland white color, and nothing really special stands out for me when it comes to the soap.

It is wrapped up in clear plastic wrap, with a green colored sticker on the wrapper with the Nirvae logo, and the scent that the soap is associated with (cedarwood and sage).

Personally I adore the scent of cedarwood (oh my god Dolce & Gabbane Light Blue!) so I was hoping with all hopes that the cedarwood scent would stick out in the shower and fill the room with the scent.

After opening the soap from its seal though I smelled nothing but old fashioned hotel bar soap. A clean scent yes, but definitely not a scent that I would even say comes close to cedarwood, or sage for that matter.

I hoped though that once I ran it under warm water while taking my shower, the scent would possibly activate. Lush soaps have a tendency to do this. Give off little scent while, yet when you put them under warm water their true scents activate and fill the room with deliciousness.

My Use:

I got into the shower with my little white oval shaped bar of Nirvae Botanicals, Cedarwood & Sage Bath Soap, and got to using it.

Unfortunately the soap didn't ever activate any scents of cedarwood or sage. It smelled exactly as it did when I first removed it from the packages; old fashioned hotel bar soap! Ugh!

The soap however lathers up quite well, leaving tons of little frothy suds on your skin. Unfortunately though the soap did not moisturize my skin. In fact it left my skin feeling pretty tight and dry after stepping out of the shower and drying up. Also the hotel soap smell stood with me for a few minutes, and then was gone. I was actually glad the scent exited the building though, because I personally was not too fond of it.

Overall:

Nirvae Botanicals, Cedarwood & Sage Bath Soap is not really a soap I would use again, not is it something I would buy. It leaves skin slightly dry and tight, and the scent smells pretty familiar to hotel soap.

Finding Nirvae Botanicals, Cedarwood & Sage Bath Soap:

Some of you though may already like Nirvae Botanicals, Cedarwood & Sage Bath Soap, and are wondering where the heck to purchase it. Well sadly it's pretty difficult finding Nirvae Botanicals, Cedarwood & Sage Bath Soap, and I have only seen it being sold on Ebay.com. Fear not though because the price for it is always low whenever I see it up for sale. Around $3.00 for 5 bars or so.
