In the past anything by Clean & Clear with the words Morning Burst
attached to it, normally ended up being a shelf favorite of mine; as in
my bathroom shelf always contained a Morning Burst product. I loved the
morning zing it offered, the fresh lime or mandarin orange scent it left
behind on my skin, and mostly I loved how it was capable of waking me
up on hard to wake up mornings.
I had not seen anything new by them in a while, until recently when I came across a tube of Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Scrub. Apparently this one has been on the market for awhile now, only I never managed to come across it.
I recalled a few years earlier running across the facial cleanser (read that review here),
and hating it. I like facial scrubs a lot more, and always feel like my
skin got a better cleansing with scrubs, vs. cleansers.
At any rate, for the low price that this one came to, I figured if it
stunk I would just take my losses and move on to something new.
The Scent:
Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Scrub has a nice
refreshing limeade scent to it. It's a definite nice start to your
morning, with its sour yet fresh and delicious lime and citrus like
scent. The zing is what primarily keeps me coming back to Morning Burst
products time and time again.
My Use:
Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Scrub has a lot
of little flecks of micro-beads and salts that are not at all abrasive.
They are perfect for really cleaning the skin deeply, and effectively
while leaving your face completely. I loved how it made my skin feel
afterward, but I was not too fond of how much scrub quickly runs out of
the tube when I tipped and squeezed it.
I have this issue with a lot of Morning Burst tubes. The hole is too
big, and the formula comes rushing out way too quickly, and a lot of it
goes wasted into the sink.
Besides that though, the facial scrub seemed to be one I would buy again and again.
Unfortunately the shine control promise was non existent. I had the
same usual shiny high beam glossing on my forehead that I normally would
had I not used the scrub.
Overall:
Do not rely on this one to keep you shine free, because it simply does
not work. It is however still a wonderful cleanser. It is gentle, has a
lovely scent, and leaves you feeling fresh and clean for hours. It
would have truly been the perfect facial scrub had it done what I hoped
it would, but sort of knew it wouldn't, and that would be to control my
shine.
