I recently scooped up a pouch of lip glosses from Estee Lauder, which
contained both Pure Color Gloss, and Pure Color Crystal Gloss. I was
thrilled to have found this little set for $19.99, because Estee no
longer had it up for grabs, and I knew I already loved the collections,
so I was excited to see what my sampler sized glosses would deliver as
far as color, shimmer, and last went.
Up on the chopping block today is Nuder Rose, which is part of the Pure Color Gloss
collection. Unlike the Crystal Color Glosses, this one contains less
micro-glitter flecks. Although if you look at it in good lighting
throughout the tube, Nude Rose does in fact have small flecks of
shimmery glitter in it, just very, very fine amounts, and very fine
flecks. Ones that I knew would not show up on lips anyway.
In the tube Nude Rose looked promising, with a pretty peachy pink tint
to it, and a nice shimmery golden hint of micro glitter to it. I
figured on my lips it would look rather pretty, as pinks have always
been my favorite colors to wear.
When Worn Alone:
Sadly Nude Rose was a complete failure when I put it on nude lips. It
added the smallest hint of peachy color to my lips, but this color did
not last but a few seconds after I pressed my lips together. The shiny
mirror like finish of course was visible, but that occurs with all
glosses.
When worn alone, Nude Rose was just a waste of time.
I hoped that it would come to life if I wore it as a top coat on top of lipstick.
When Worn As a Lipstick To Coat:
I applied a layer of Nude Rose on top of some red lipstick, and
watched as it simply drained the red color away and turned it into a
more peachy orange like glaze. I did not like it, and it caused my long
lasting lipstick to fade away much faster.
It did pretty much the exact same thing on other lip colors I tested it out with as well. Drained the color, faded it away.
Overall:
Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss in Nude Rose is probably the least
favorite color in the collection that I have yet to come across. This is
one I wold not even recommend picking p at a dollar store if you
happened to stumble upon it.
