Initially I got around to trying Estee Lauder's Color Swirl Lip Gloss in
Caramel Swirl. While the flavoring was OK, and the overall eye candy
appearance was neat, the gloss itself really stunk. No color, no tint,
nothing.
I got this particular limited edition, limited time gloss with its sister Berry Swirl.
I liked the overall look of Berry Swirl a heck of a lot more than
Caramel Swirl, as pinks and reds are more my color. However after being
so disappointed with Caramel Swirl, I sort of figured Berry Swirl would
be just as pathetic.
The lip gloss is set up unlike any other Estee Lauder Pure Color
Gloss. Instead of one solid color, you have bands of 3 colors running
around one another in neat lines up the tube.
You have a nice deep darker color pinkish red with obvious shimmer in
the color. Next a pale pink, and finally a pearly pink mixed in to make
up the lip gloss.
I figured though, that like Caramel Swirl, no color or tint would show
up on the lips, and I would be left with nothing but a very overpriced
tube of plain clear gloss. That was how Caramel Swirl worked. Plain,
clear, boring, expensive. Luckily these were given to me, otherwise I
would have been angry had I spent money on it.
When it comes to Berry Swirl the look is juvenile and unlike Estee
Lauder's usual adult product appearances. This one is more childlike,
and looks like something a kid would beg for. However even with the
child like nature of the product, I was happy to have gotten it, and
happy to have used it in order to give you my review of it.
In the store though, if I were to stumble upon this one, I would
likely pass it up as some stupid dollar store kid gloss garbage.
The Flavor:
Nom. Nom. Nom. This one tastes pretty good. It has a vague
berry flavor going on, doused with a lovely berry fragrance. It tastes
pretty good, and it is not childlike or overbearing with a candy like
flavor going on. It is just enough to make you smile.
The Color:
Thankfully Berry Swirl actually gives your lips a small dash of
tickled pink tint. It is not a huge color change, but over pink or red
lipstick and it gives your lips a nice oomph, and color change, which
transforms your standard lip color into a little something new.
Overall:
Estee Lauder, Pure Color Swirl Lip Gloss, # 01 Berry Swirl is
definitely worth looking for, however other Pure Color Glosses work much
better. If you can find this one online however for a low price it is
worth picking up, because it will keep them lips nicely moisturized, and
gives them a pretty little pink tint.
