Review of Estee Lauder Pure Color Swirl Lip Gloss in Caramel Swirl

This holiday season friends and family were good to me, and those who are close to me know my sweet spot, and that sweet tooth happens to always target makeup. From foundations, to eye shadows, lipsticks and glosses. Ti's the season to be vain.

One particular gift that peaked my interest above and beyond all other cosmetics I received goes to a tube of lip gloss known as Estee Lauder Pure Color Swirl Lip Gloss in Caramel Swirl.
The reason was because I knew about Estee Lauder's Pure Color Glosses, yet I had never before seen one with bands of swirled color mixed in a neat array in a tube before receiving this one.

In this tube of gloss there are bands of sparkling burnt orange, meeting a swirl of light glass like tan, and above all a brown band of sparkly sweetness. It all seemed rather pretty, but at the same time rather juvenile compared to what I expect of Estee Lauder. While I found it to be silly looking in comparison, I was also glad to have gotten one to try this concept for size.

I am no stranger to swirl glosses, and while they look pretty, most do not work so well when it comes to delivering color.

Caramel Swirl looked as if it would deliver a light orange mix for my lips, but who knew what it would deliver on top of colored lipstick.

My Use:

When I finally got around to using Caramel Swirl I was surprised to find that it had a nice light caramel scent, with an ever so vague flavoring of caramel as well. Not too strong or child like, so that was a plus.

As far as color went though, this particular lip gloss simply added a glossy glass like shimmer to my lips. No color was detected. The same went for when I tried it on top of lipstick, a simple glossy finish with no added coloring or tint to amp up my color or add a surprise of color to my lip stick.

Overall:

It has its eye candy appeal, but all in all this particular lip gloss is not worth going out and hunting for. It's a basic lip gloss, with a finish that you can get from any old lip gloss. The last is not all that impressive either.
