Review of John Frieda, Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hair Spray

I have thick wavy hair naturally. Lately I have been adding gel and hair spray in order to turn my thick wavy hair into thick spiral curls. The problem though is that my hair is also prone to frizzing up really easily, even with gel and hair spray to hold it down and tame the frizz.

When I came across a can of John Frieda, Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hair Spray, I figured it would be a good investment to at least give it a try, and just hope for the best. Mostly though I wanted it for hot humid days, for when my hair is at its worst.

My Use

After adding gel into my damp hair, and scrunching the hair for curls, I then sprayed in a fair amount of John Frieda, Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hair Spray, and simply waited for my hair to dry, as I normally would.

The scent is rather fresh as well, but it does not last.

As my hair began to dry I felt that the hair spray had left my hair a bit hard, which is fine by me, as the curls still looked soft and natural. No white flakes were forming, so this was a plus as far as I was concerned.

The day went on, and it was hot and it was humid, which was the perfect conditions to put this moisture barrier hair spray to its test.

Results:

Sadly John Frieda, Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hair Spray failed to keep the frizz away. My hair still ended up growing frizzy, and even more so for when I became more active outdoors.

Now the frizz that I normally would have had without the hair spray would have been much worse, so it does work, but slight subtle results was all I saw from it. I would have liked the frizz to be less obvious.

The hold is very strong though, but it does not last the entire day, and the hard feeling it left behind on my hair also eased up and allowed the curl to fall soft. The curl however maintained its spiral, so that was a plus.

Overall:

It's just OK in my opinion. I would have liked the frizz to be less obvious, but as far as the hold went, I liked it, I liked that it wore off, yet left my curls in place, only feeling much softer. So all in all, it's not too bad, but not the greatest hair spray I have ever used either.
