Whenever Jennifer Lopez releases a new fragrance, I am amongst the
thousands of fans who scamper about looking for it. This year I did not
have to look for her newest Love and Glamour fragrance, as it was a top
on my holiday list.
I received the gift set, which includes the body lotion, the
fragrance, and of course the shower gel. With any gift set though, any
fragrance fanatic knows well enough that the best thing in such a set is
usually just the perfume, while the lotion and shower gel sort of sit
back and take a seat, not capable of impressing quite as much as the
fragrance.
This rule rings true when it comes to the Love and Glamour Body Lotion.
The Scent:
The fragrance you get from this particular body lotion matches
perfectly to the perfume. It has a light fruity presence about it, which
eventually simmers down into a more peachy nectarine and fruit platter
musk. It is a fresh and clean scent, which is easily likable, but at the
same time it has been done before.
In fact, to me it smells a lot like her Love At First Glow, which is
part of her Glow collection. Love and Glamour is a stand alone
fragrance, part of no collection, sort of like her My Glow fragrance,
which sucks by the way.
In fact most of her stand alone fragrances have failed to impress me.
The Texture:
The Love and Glamour Body Lotion has the same run of the mill texture
that any body lotion has regarding celebrity perfume sets. It's a little
runny, smells nice, but does not do a thing if you are looking for some
actual moisture. It's more of a fragrance lotion, nothing more, nothing
less.
The Last:
And here is where we fall into the main issue I have with the Love and
Glamour fragrance. The last is pretty horrendous, considering this
fragrances asking price. Granted it is a new release, the price does not
justify the pitiful last you get with this one. The boy lotion is no
different.
Usually when I layer a body lotion with a perfume I get more mileage
on the last. This body lotion however fizzles out in fragrance before I
even get the opportunity to layer it up with the perfume.
Overall:
Sadly Jennie from the block, this body lotion is pretty useless.
Granted it gives off a nice scent at first, it has no last to it at all.
For all you Lopez fragrance fans out there, this would be the one to skip on.
