Review of LUSH: Snowdrops Bath Bomb

My boyfriend recently ordered me a huge collection of Lush items for our anniversary. The box of Lush.com goodies arrived and inside of this big box of bath time goodies, I came across a bath bomb that I had wanted to try the moment it was released for Lush's winter collection of limited edition bath treats.
Snowdrops Bath Bomb!!! On the site Snowdrops looks pretty plain compared to the other bath bombs that are available, but due to it's description I knew this white plain Jane packed some sort of hidden treasure. Of course my speculations were right, Snowdrops does in fact contain some hidden floaty gems.

Snowdrops is a white bath bomb, which is described as having scents of citrus, mandarin, and grapefruit. It is also described as packing a dash of peppermint for an uplifting bath.

I was personally a little hesitant, because the last time I used a bath bomb from Lush that contained mint, I was not all too impressed with the Vick's vapor rub scent.

Snowdrops I could smell through the bag and it didn't smell like Vick's, in fact it smelled more like a delicious creamy candy cane. I could tell immediately that this bath bomb also contained flakes of iridescent glitter pieces. I found the whole concept adorable, because it reminded me of ice and snow, and I hoped in the bath, the glitter paper pieces would float to the surface creating a fun and creative looking bath. At the same token though, I hoped the clean up wouldn't be painful.

Snowdrops comes as a 6.3 ounce monster. It's pretty big, but I went ahead and used the whole bomb in one shot to experience it at it's fullest.

I ran a bath, and plopped in Snowdrops.

The bath bomb fizzed up and was gone pretty quickly, but as it melted the lovely pieces of glitter did raise to the surface of the tub, but not in a large quantity. It was just mediocre, I would have liked more.
Besides releasing pieces of glitter though, I noticed that the bomb when completely melted also released small pieces of sugar cubes, which was an interesting addition to the bath.

The scent of my bath water was also really nice, with a nice mild combination of vanilla and peppermint. I did not at all under any circumstances smell anything citrusy, mandarin, or grapefruit!

This bomb smells like a candy cane, there is no other way to put it. I have no clue why Lush describes the scent the way they did.

Once I got out of the bath, I felt exactly what Snowdrops had to offer. My skin felt ice cold due to the added peppermint. I was not to thrilled with getting out of my hot bath water and to find that the added peppermint made my skin feel icy cold.

I feel that Snowdrops would be an excellent bath bomb for hot summer days, that way stepping out of the tub you'd get a rush of a cool tingly sensation all over your body. In the winter though! Ahh!
Why!?!?

Anyhow, as far as my bathwater, Snowdrops did make the water very silky, which is always what I look for when it comes to a bath bomb.

All in all I am pretty happy with Snowdrops. It may not be my all time favorite Bath Bomb from Lush but it is a pretty decent bomb. I definitely think it is one though that would be better released during hot summer months, because this one really cools you off.
