My boyfriend and I recently celebrated our anniversary. He usually isn't
too good at picking out gifts for me, so he pretty much asked me what I
wanted. I honestly couldn't think of anything on the spot, but for some
reason blurted out Lush stuff!
I gave him the website address and let him do the rest. To my surprise
I ended up with a bigger box of bath time goodies than I expected to
receive. In this box he ordered me a Frothy The Snowman Bubble Bar,
which I had been wanting to try ever since it went on sale on the
website.
Frothy The Snowman Bubble Bar looked adorable not only on the site,
but he was also pretty cute in person. The bubble bar comes to 3.5
ounces, and costs $5.95. In person though Frothy The Snowman has a more
yellowish tint to it, than it does pale white like shown on the Lush.com
website. At any rate though you will still get a kick out of the cute
festive looking snowman.
Frothy came packed in a small Lush brand plastic baggie, The bubble
bar itself is white with tons of mini coconut shavings stuck to the
outer layer of it. There are also real pieces of licorice sticks added
to the bubble bar to make it look like a snowman. For instance, the
licorice makes up the bubble bars eyes, nose and mouth.
Out of the bag Frothy The Snowman smells primarily like coconut to me
with only a light hint of licorice. I honestly could not wait to run a
bath and plop Frothy in to see how well it worked.
I was hoping for mounds of white frothy bubbles; long lasting white frothy bubbles that is!
What I got:
I cut the bubble bar in half which I usually always do, because I find
that using the entire thing in one bath is wasteful. After cutting half
the bar, I ran my hot water and crumbled the bubble bar under the
water. The bubbles foamed up pretty quickly after adding it, and they
did have a very faint vanilla and licorice scent to them, but really I
was only able to notice the smell when I put my nose right up on the
bubbles and inhaled.
The scent failed to fill the bathroom, and it failed to linger.
In fact the whole bubble bar pretty much failed on me. The water was a
bit silky and did feel nice on my skin, however the bubbles themselves
fizzed out and popped in less than 5 minutes which was pretty
disappointing coming from Lush! Most bubble bars I've gotten from Lush
have always had long lasting bubbles, and they always gave off glorious
powerful fragrances. Frothy The Snowman though pretty much made my water
feel silky, and that was about it.
Overall:
Frothy The Snowman Bubble Bar looks adorable, and even smells delicious when you first
encounter it. However it fails to deliver long lasting bubbles, and
scent to your bath. I'd recommend you save your $5.95 and pick up
another bubble bar.
It is really too bad too, because out of its package it really smelled great.
