Review of New Halle Berry Pure Orchid Perfume for Women

This past weekend I came across a few newbie fragrances at my local Target. Normally I don't browse for scents at Target, because I find the prices to be at least $10.00 higher than anywhere else as far as fragrances go.

While doing a quick scan though, I noticed they had a few new fragrances that I had never seen before. Halle Berry, Pure Orchid happened to be one of those scents.

Personally I was not a fan of the first scent by Halle, so I never followed her collections. I was not even sure how many scents she had available, but I've come to learn that this particular scent, Pure Orchid, is her second scent released.

The Bottle:

Pure Orchid comes in a really nice bottle, and it is one that I would likely save after the scent was gone. The bottle itself is a transparent lilac color, with a rectangular shape that reminds me of an ice cube. The bottles topper is a darker lilac colored rectangular stopper. Underneath that, you have your standard press down applicator nozzle.

The Scent:

Although honeysuckle is not a note that is in Pure Orchid, it was the very first thing that hit me after trying the tester bottle. It smelled like honeysuckle, mixed with strong notes of florals. It's a very fresh scent, and once the initial honeysuckle fragrance quickly fizzles out, you're left with a very nice fresh floral mix, which reminds me of a florist shop.

Pure Orchid was a very nice scent, and one that I would enjoy during spring months, however it's was a floral scent that I have smelled time and time again as far as perfume goes. There was nothing really new, or unique about it. I could find hundreds of others just like it.

The scent is not necessarily a bad scent; not at all, it's just not very original.

The Last:

I sprayed 2 shots of Pure Orchid on my wrists, and continued shopping. The fragrance did not impress me enough to add the perfume to my shopping cart, so I continued on my way with my shopping.

I noticed that just an hour after spraying myself with Pure Orchid, that the scent was gone. Not a trace of it was left behind on my wrists, which was disappointing.

Overall:

Halle Berry, Pure Orchid failed to win me over. I liked the scent, yes, but the scent has been done before. With that aside though, Pure Orchid does not have a very long lasting kick. Had it had some sort of last I would have recommended it, but seeing that the last is very, very short lived I have to recommend skipping out on it.
