Does TIGI Bedhead Superstar Conditioner for Thick Massive Hair Really Add Volume?

I already have thick massive hair, and depending on the shampoos and conditioners I use, the results could either amplify my thick hair and make it even crazier-thick, or it does nothing.

I like to change up my hairstyle quite often, so when I was given a bottle of conditioner called TIGI Bed Head Superstar Thick Massive Hair, I was hesitant to try it. I like my thick hair, but if it got any thicker I'd be at a loss on what to do with it.

However, because this gigantic bottle was given to me, I had to try it to see if it would offer any more volume than I already had. I figured I could use it, and then curl my hair for a really, really 'fluffy Felicity' type look.

Scent:

The first thing I noticed about the conditioner was it's lovely spiced apple scent. It does not specify the scent on the bottle, but to me it smelled like fresh spiced red delicious apples, with a fruity undertone which reminded me of melon and cinnamon. All in all the primary scent I got from it though was spiced apples. It's not overwhelming, but it is noticeable when your hair dries, which is a big plus for scent lovers.

My Use:

I rinsed my hair using my usual shampoo, and applied a decent amount of Thick Massive Hair Conditioner to my wet locks. I let the conditioner sit in for 5 minutes or so. Normally you would only need to leave it in for 3 minutes, but I take my time to let conditioners sit in longer than other folks do.
The conditioner itself is relatively thick in texture, but the moment I began running it though my hair I noted that it did a wonderful job at spreading itself out, and untangling snarls and knots.

After allowing the conditioner to sit, I rinsed it out and was surprised at how soft and silky my hair felt. Most volumizing conditioners I have used in the past tend to leave behind a sticky residue, which causes snarls and frizz.

This was my main concern, would this conditioner cause frizz, and not volume? There is a huge difference, and many companies seem to think frizz is volume! Well it's not! Frizz is nasty.

Results:

I let my hair air dry as I usually do. I did notice a bit of added volume, but in all honesty I've used other lower priced conditioners that gave me way more volume than this conditioner did.

Now I don't necessarily hate the conditioner, because it did not leave frizz behind, nor did it leave a residue behind.

Overall:

I like it. For those looking for a lot of extra volume though, don't expect miracles from this one. It's mediocre, and average. However I love the scent it leaves behind, and I love how it leaves my hair soft and manageable during, and after showering.

This one gets 3 stars out of 5 from me. I'd recommend it for the scent alone.
