I took notice to Herbal Essence this past month because they have
changed up their old school look with a more modern and eye catching
packaging. In the past they were dying out, a shampoo and conditioner
you would see on shelves collecting dust, almost touching base with the
low quality and cheap realm of White Rain.
The new change is a positive one though, and it was the main reason I ended up picking up a bottle of their new Herbal Essence Touchably Smooth Conditioner.
The price was low, the bottle a nice size that would last for quite a
while, and the scent that I sniffed was pleasant, smooth, and melon
like. Besides the new look though, this conditioner promised me
something for my hair that I liked, something I always look to achieve.
The touchably smooth was what sold me.
I have naturally wavy hair, and where there are waves, frizz is not
far behind. One ounce of humidity in the air, and my waves turn to a
puff ball of fried frizz.
I hoped that the new look of Herbal Essence came packed with the promises they displayed on their fancy new bottles.
My Use:
I shampooed with my regular shampoo, and then added a decent amount of
Herbal Essence Touchably Smooth Conditioner to my locks.
The conditioner has a nice smell, and in the shower the smell is even
nicer. It's like a peachy melon scent, but not an overly strong or sweet
fruit scent. It is light and soft.
I allowed the conditioner to stay in my hair for 3 minutes, and rinsed
it out. Hair felt soft, and clean, but the issue I was having was the
fact that my hair still felt kinked, and slightly dry after rinsing it
out. I did another fast round with the conditioner by adding another
small scoop to the hair where it flt most dry and knotted.
This did the trick.
Dry Time:
After getting out, I allowed my hair to air dry, as this seems to show
me the results better than styling directly after showering. My hair
definitely was drying soft, and shiny, and there was a lot less frizz.
Once completely dry, I had to admit the results were pretty good. Not
too much frizz, soft hair, shiny hair; everything one really looks for
as a result of their conditioner.
Styling my hair was easier, because there was less puff and frizz to
combat through, so I was happy to wipe a few minutes off of my hair care
routine.
Overall:
Herbal Essence Touchably Smooth Conditioner is a really decent
conditioner. Not the best smoothing conditioner I have used, but for the
price, I would have to say it is the best in the same competitive price
range.
The scent also slightly lingers the following day. A nice fresh peachy
melon fragrance will stick with you, and leave you smelling fresh and
clean.
I recommend it, I like it. It does what it says it will do, and I have
no complaints. I cannot wait to see what else they come up with next.
