Once a blue moon you are introduced to a fragrance that you cannot quite
say if you love or hate, but when you smell it again, a year later you
are easily able to tell what the fragrance is, and in ways, the scent
grows on you, sticks to you, and becomes one of those fragrances that
you cannot live without.
Ralph Lauren Romance, perfume for women is just one of those fragrances.
The bottle is nothing to brag about, its a standard dull square shaped
thing, with a boring little rectangular topper. However Coco
Mademoiselle has a bottle shaped just like it, and the scent inside that
dull bottle is delightful.
As far as those of you out there who save perfume bottles once you use
up all the perfume, I imagine you won't want this one hogging up
counter top real estate.
The Fragrance:
Ralph Lauren Romance was mediocre with me at first, delivering a
combined and unique mix of what smelled like citrus spiced with
cinnamon, watery cucumbers, and a near manly like after tone that I
couldn't distinguish as good or bad.
It was odd to say the least to have such a nice mix of scents, and
then topped off with something that set it into the world of unisex. The
fragrance can definitely be labeled as such. It could swing both ways,
and this could either be a good or bad thing, depending on what you
prefer as far as fragrances go.
Once the manly tone begins to fade away, Ralph Lauren, Romance, begins
to deliver a more cinnamon and cucumber note, leaving behind that
citrus flare I smelled initially. This faded scent though is what
captures me most. That delicious cinnamon mixed with a kiss of watery
cucumbers smelled delicious when combined.
It has a JLO Afterdark sort of ring to it, which if anyone remembers, was a unisex fragrance. A perfect one at that.
Last:
Ralph Lauren, Romance has a delightful lasting kick that any perfume
lover will enjoy. Unlike cheaper fragrances, and low quality celebrity
fragrances, Ralph Lauren, Romance lasts and lasts. A few sprays to
clothing and you can expect this one to make itself known throughout the
day, holding strong, but not overpowering.
Overall:
Ralph Lauren, Romance is a winner in my opinion. A unique and never
done before fragrance, combined with long lasting power, and you have
yourself a winner.
