Review of Olay Total Effects Nourishing Cream Cleanser

I'm 26, and I have always been seeking out products to keep my skin as fresh, young and healthy looking as possible. My grandmother, at 56 years old had flawless young looking skin. Everyone who was anyone always asked what her secret was.

Besides good genetics, she had another secret. Not a day went by where she wasn't applying moisturizer, anti aging creams, and other products to her face to keep it looking young and new.

I have kept up with her wisdom, and since a young child have been into lotions, creams, and products that would benefit my skin.

Recently I have been more into anti aging creams. I suffer from barely there crows feet, but I figure if I keep up with a beauty regime, the crows feet will not grow any larger, and perhaps...maybe, just maybe I can even diminish the look of them.

My most recent purchase was Olay: Total Effects Nourishing Cream Cleanser. According to the tube of cleanser, using Olay: Total Effects Nourishing Cream Cleanser would provide me with 7 anti-aging benefits. For a list of them please click here.

My Use:

I splashed my face with water first, and then took a good dollop of Olay: Total Effects Nourishing Cream Cleanser and scrubbed it around on my skin.

The cleanser is a very deep matte colored white, and has a consistency similar to toothpaste, only more creamy and thick. The scent was what hit me immediately though, and it was likely the best scent I have ever gotten from a facial cleanser.

Olay: Total Effects Nourishing Cream Cleanser smells like melons, delicious cantaloupe, honey dew, and watermelon all combined for a nice fruit salad scent for you to enjoy while washing your face.

While rinsing I noticed a lack of microbeads, which I love included in my cleansers. I figured though I would give Olay: Total Effects Nourishing Cream Cleanser the benefit of the doubt. Besides I had used cleanser without beads in them before.

Drying Up:

After rinsing the cleanser from my face, I could feel an oily texture left behind on my skin that I was not too fond of. It was oily. Not cool. Even after drying off my skin was left with a weird oily texture. It was not an awful feeling, but it was also a feeling that I wasn't thrilled with.

Also throw into the equation the fact that my skin did not feel fresh and clean after rinsing.

Results:

Olay: Total Effects Nourishing Cream Cleanser wasn't something I enjoyed using. It does have a really nice scent, and would be great for dry skin sufferers, but for those of us with shiny/oily skin to begin with, Olay: Total Effects Nourishing Cream Cleanser feels like swiping more grease onto your face; even after rinsing!

Although Olay: Total Effects Nourishing Cream Cleanser is/was not one of my favorites I continued to use it to see if I would see a difference in my skins overall texture. I also wanted to see how well it would fight those mini crows feet.

Sad to say that even after 3 weeks of daily use my skin is pretty much the same. I will say though that my skin feels much softer. This however is a result that you can get with many different cleansers.

Recommended:

To those with dry skin. Olay: Total Effects Nourishing Cream Cleanser offers tons of moisturization, and didn't cause break outs. For those with oily skin, you may want to skip on this one just because it makes your skin feel a little greasy after using it.

Pricing:

I picked up the tube of Olay: Total Effects Nourishing Cream Cleanser at my local Target for around $8.00
