Review of Pond's Clean Sweep Wet Cleansing Towelettes

I recently used up my last Olay facial towelette, and when I went to replace them, I found that the price has been raised by nearly $3.00. Considering the fact that only 30 towelettes come in the package, I didn't want to spend $8.00 on a supply that would only last me half a month. I use 2 a day.

Instead I ended up picking up a 3 pack of Pond's Clean Sweep Wet Cleansing Towelettes. I needed them for simple makeup removal. Although Olay's wet towelettes were great, and even included extra benefits to the skin infused in the towelettes formula, I was willing to try out Pond's even though the packaging looked bland, and slightly dollar storish.

The 3 pack contained 85 pre-moistened towelettes, which was more than enough to satisfy the $6.00 price tag.

The towelettes usually come in packs of 30 or 15. They're easy to miss at stores though, as I've noticed that many stores that have them in stock, stick them on the very bottom shelf, and the package is a pretty bland color of white and baby blue. They have a freshness seal that you peel away to remove the towelettes, the seal sticks back in place ensuring that the towelettes don't dry out.

When I first opened the pack, I was a little disappointed in how small the towelette was. Initially I thought I needed a larger towelette in order to remove all traces of makeup off of my face. I was actually pleasantly surprised, and shocked that I only needed to use 1 towelette in order to rid my face off all traces of makeup (more on that later though).

Anyhow, the towelettes, had a very nice soapy fresh scent to it that I liked.

My Use:

I removed one towelette and started on my eyes, where I use thick eyeliner. Normally I needed to use 2 towelettes in order to remove all makeup from my skin. Even with larger towelettes.

Pond's Clean Sweep however surprised me with how quickly and easily it gobbled up all traces of my black eyeliner. The best thing about it was that it removed the eyeliner without pushing it all around my face and making a bigger mess than necessary.

I was able to sweep makeup off of my eyes with just 4 swipes to each lid.
The back side of the towelette was still clean, so I used that side to remove my foundation from my face.
I was happy, the small towelette managed to remove all traces of makeup, which never happens with Olay's towelettes.

Once the formula dried on my face my skin was left feeling remarkably clean. Normally I would have to wash my face with face wash after using towelettes to rid my skin of any missed elements. Pond's though however left my skin sparkling clean pretty much eliminating the need to go use a facial wash.
My skin was left clean, refreshed, and happy. The formula does however leave the skin feeling a little tight. A good tight though, not a dry one that flakes the skin.

Overall:

Pond's Clean Sweep is a winner in my book. I really don't see a need to go back to using higher priced makeup removal pads, considering the fact that these are priced fairly and they work much, much better than the competition products.
