Review of Realities Sweet Desire by Liz Claiborne Shower Gel

I love Realities Sweet Desire by Liz Claiborne, I was not too fond of the lotion though, and the final piece to the collection being the shower gel is the product up on today's chopping block.

Realities Sweet Desire Shower Gel came in a large gift set, which included all of the above. Like the lotion it comes in the exact same pretty in pink plastic squeeze tube.

Now I have used many perfumed body lotions and shower gels, and for the most part the lotions never really impress me, but the shower gels are usually a different story, with a much happier ending than the lotions have.

When it comes to Sweet Desire, this one did me justice just as I had imagined it would.

In the shower Sweet Desires comes flying out of the tube rather quickly, so you really do not want to squeeze the tube, otherwise it'll end up on the tub floor, wasted. I tipped the tube over, and lightly pushed some of the gel into my loofah sponge. The gel itself is clear with an antique burnt orange tint to it. It's not very pretty, but I didn't care, because the scent was divine. It's a refreshing floral fragrance, and matched perfectly to the sister perfume.

As I began to work the loofah around my body though the scent seemed a little off as the gel began to lather. It was only a little off though, like a slightly weaker version of the perfume.

The lather is not very rich or creamy, but a little does go a long way.

After rinsing there was not much going on as far as my skin was concerned. It left me feeling clean, but there were no moisturizing properties or silkening effects left behind like other shower gels are capable of doing. All in all, the shower gel was mediocre, nothing special, but not one I hated either.

The final disappointment however came with the after party, and that was because there was none.

Most perfumed shower gels I have used in the past have always left behind a nice kiss of fragrance that I am able to notice, and enjoy for around an hour after showering. When it comes to Sweet Desire though, the fragrance washed right down the drain along with the lousy suds.

Overall:

I liked that the set came with this shower gel, however I definitely would not go out of my way to purchase the larger tube of Sweet Desire Shower Gel, as it does not do much of anything besides leave you feeling clean. Any cheap bar soap can do that too though.
