Review of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Sky Pink- 012

Over the last few months I have become a lipstick junkie. For years I quit wearing the stuff, because all I was doing was spending money on lipstick that never stood put, or colors that looked so weak compared to what the inside tube color displayed on the counter.

I guess the cosmetic companies picked up the slack and finally began selling lipstick that was actually worth buying again and again.

Pinks in particular have always been my favorite, as it goes best with my skin tone.

A few months ago I fell in love with Revlon's Carnation Pink Lipstick with its beautiful bold metallic like finish. This past week I came across a new color that actually seemed to be something I would like. Normally I prefer metallic lipstick colors with pink hues, and I when I saw Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Sky Pink, I was surprised I liked it at all seeing that it had not a trace of metallic shimmer. In fact Sky Pink 012, is exactly as you would imagine it to be. A pastel baby powdery pink, not too dark, not too light.

I imagined though before sampling it that it would be a more light pink, with no color added to the lips at all. However when I swiped this color onto my lips I was shocked at just how beautiful retro go-go girl it was. It reminded me of a lip color you would find in the 60's.

It does not wash out your look, nor is it weak. The sky colored pastel pink shows up really well, and considering how weak it looked in the tube I was pretty happy at how vibrant it was on the lips.
The lipstick itself goes on creamy, and leaves lips feeling slightly kissed with moisture, not grease or oil like other brands. Sky Pink felt invisible on lips, and the color is gorgeous.

Last:

I was weary on how long this color would stay put on my lips, but even after having a few sips of coffee, I was happy to see that Sky Pink stood put without a trace of fading.

Although that is a plus, the last is not enormously spectacular, compared to Channel Lipsticks in particular. All in all I get around 2 hours of wear before I find that the color is looking less obvious. I do not mind having to reapply this one though, because it truly is that beautiful, and worth carrying around in my bag for touch-ups.

Overall:

If pink metallics are more your thing, you should definitely give Sky Pink a shot because I think you will be pleasantly surprised at just how colorful it is, and how soft it will leave your entire face looking. The flat matte finish glows a lot brighter than you would expect!
