Is Sun Laboratories Ultra Dark Self Tanning Lotion, the Best Self Tanner?

Now 4 months ago I would have told you that hands down Aqua Tan spray and lotion were the best self tanners on the market. While these self tanning products are a top favorite of mine, they both managed to take second place now that I have found Sun Laboratories Ultra Dark Self Tanning Lotion - Dark.

The reason I scooped this one up was because I had run out of Aqua Tan Spray, and due to the fact that it was around the holidays when I needed a refill, I could not afford to splurge on a $50+ bottle of spray. I searched high and low on Amazon for a self tanning lotion that had relatively good reviews, and after comparing a bunch of brands side by side, it seemed like Sun Laboratories Ultra Dark Self Tanning Lotion - Dark would be the best option.

Many reviews raved, and others were not so pleasant, but then again from personal experience with Amazon reviews, I find that many folks who complain about self tanners are only upset because they did not use the product correctly. First you want to exfoliate, and second, make sure your skin is clean and dry, free of any cosmetics, dirt or dead skin. If you don't you will end up blotched.

I knew this already, so I went ahead and made the purchase. I figured it the lotion sucked, I would have no other choice but to take my hit, and go back to Aqua Tan for another expensive bottle of spray tanner.

Sun Laboratories Ultra Dark Self Tanning Lotion - Dark arrived in a bottle that resembled a bottle of tanning lotion you would bring to the beach.

I did not waste any time, my skin was looking pale and I needed to begin applying this one immediately.

The pump applicator pumps out a fair amount of the lotion, which is a little runny and gel like in consistency, but the color is brown, which allows you to see where you are applying it. It only took 2 small pumps of formula to apply it to my entire face, and neck.

Immediately I could see the color change, and I loved it. A beautiful cocoa colored tint. The key however is to not wash your face or shower for a few hours while the color sets into your skin. If you touch your face or body while you have this one on, the results will not be as dark, and you could cause blotching.

The smell is also pleasant, and I actually enjoy it. It has a nice cherry almond fragrance going on, which is unlike any other self tanning lotion I have used. Most leave a disgusting stench behind, but Sun Laboratories Ultra Dark Self Tanning Lotion - Dark, leaves behind nothing but a delightful cherry fragrance, and of course a beautiful cocoa tint.

Once I got around to showering the next day, I was surprised at how well this color stood. No blotching, no streaks, and I was no longer pale.

For the low price I spent on this one, I am a lifelong fan. I do not have to purchase high prices self tanners anymore, as I have found one that leaves me with a beautiful tan. No orange tints, no nothing. An absolute all natural looking tan.

Where To Buy:

I got this one off of Amazon. I would suggest the dark lotion even if you are pale. The darker color supposedly works best at giving you a natural looking tan. For just $16.00 you can have a year round tan, and you will not have to spend big dollars on other brands, nor will you have to destroy your skin in the sun or in tan beds.
