Review of Shania Starlight, Perfume for Women, by Shania Twain

My mothers room is seriously like a perfume outlet. You name the scent, and likely its sitting there somewhere on her gigantic counter just waiting to be tested. You see, her and I manage to collect designer perfume's from thrift stores for only $1.00 a pop. Normally we find perfume that cost anywhere from $30 to our best find at $1,500, for only $1.00. You cannot beat that! No way, no how.

My most recent treasured find was a new gift set of Shania Starlight. I imagined that someone got it for Christmas, hated it, and decided to cash in at our local trade for cash thrift store. The gift set came to $3.00, but included all of the extra loved perks; bath wash, perfume, lotion... you get the deal.

At any rate, this gift set normally comes to around $40.00.

The main attraction in the gift set though is of course the actual perfume. The bottle of Shania Starlight was small, but I change up my scents depending on my mood, so I knew the bottle wold last for quite some time. The bottle itself is adorable, it's a stand up bottle that is shaped like a star, which is suiting to its Starlight name.

The Scent:

At first I was not sure I liked Starlight, because it's scent was odd, and powdery. As the scent began to dry on my wrists though I was able to detect a lovely floral mix that I really liked. The scent was not an immature and fake floral, it was more mature with a classic kick to it that made it seem classy, and more expensive than it really was.

Many celebrity fragrances all have that same fruity and playful floral scent, but Shania Starlight amped up the scent with a more mature twist to it.

The florals are easily noted, and after awhile you will begin to smell very faint notes of citrus and gardenia which will remain as the fragrances main 'hit you' scent. It's really quite nice.

The scent is definitely a spring and summer scent, but if you feel like you are missing your warmer months during the winter, then I'd definitely suggest spraying on a few squirts of Starlight. It's refreshing, uplifting and classy all rolled into one really cute bottle.

The Last:

So with all of the good stuff behind us, does Shania Starlight have any downsides?

Normally when I find a perfume I really like, the scents last fails to impress me.

Shania Starlight however packs some long lasting scent to her starlicious body. I was able to detect the scent throughout the day in small faint notes. Just when I grew accustom to the scent and thought it had faded, as I moved around I'd catch notes of the scent still on me, which is a major plus.

Overall:

Shania Starlight is a glorious mature scent that lasts all day long. For the price it's well worth it. $3.00 or $30.00, I would suggest this scent to women who are sick of the overbearing sugary floral fragrances. This one is easy to wear, and will not disappoint.
