My uncle comes up a few times during the year; never empty handed. With
each trip, he comes packing a giant bag or box filled with expensive
designer goodies. Goodies from designers I'd never heard of, goodies
from designer's I have heard of, but couldn't afford. He gets them all
for free, and I reap the benefits...sometimes though, I just reek
though.
In the box of goods this time I found myself drawn to a plain trial
sized aluminum package of body balm by a company I had never heard of
before.
Space. NK. Laughter Body Balm was written on the green trial
pack. It seemed interesting, even though there was a total lack of
description on what it would do, and how it would do it, and what was in
it.
Before daring to apply Space. NK. Laughter Body Balm, I first took my research online to see what this stuff had to offer.
According to the official site, and other sites carrying Space. NK.
Laughter Body Balm, the balm is used to protect the skin against
dehydrating. I can't say my skin has ever downright dehydrated on me,
but nonetheless it seemed cool. Especially cool when I learned it
contained Asian Plant Extracts *yet they fail to mention which Asian plants?
Either way though, it looked cool, sounded cool, and seemed like something I could probably use on my knees and elbows.
I tore open the package and squeezed out some of the lotion. I
wouldn't call it balm, because it has a more runny lotion like
consistency.
I didn't smell anything initially, but as I began rubbing it into my skin, the smell hit me as if it were heat activated.
Herbs... lots and lots of herbs. I couldn't pin what herbs and
fragrances I was smelling right away, but as I inhaled more and more the
scent began to break down for me and make more sense.
First and foremost I smelled Guinea Pigs. Yep, I definitely smell cedar chips. Lucky for me, I love cedar scents (Dolce Light Blue
for instance uses cedar). Next I smelled something pepper-minty, but at
the same time yellow Listerine like. Then I was able to detect some
Italian seasoning, leather, new shoe smell, and some very subtle spicy
lime undertones.
Overall Space. NK. Laughter Body Balm is the weirdest, most unique scent I have ever
smelled...but Holy hell it smells awesome in my opinion. You wouldn't
think that it smelled awesome after reading my description of the
different scents that came from it; but God it smells good. It really does. I can't stop sniffing my hands.
I will say though, that some women may downright be disgusted by this
scent, as it has a very woodsy outdoorsy scent to it, a little
masculine, but feminine nonetheless.
I consider it to be more of an aromatherapy lotion than I would a
moisturizer, because as a moisturizer it didn't do much at all. Nope.
The scent though, oh the glorious strange herbal scent... it sticks
with you all day long, and truly I can say Space. NK. Laughter Body Balm
is just a very relaxing scent that puts you in a good mood. At least it
does for me anyway.
Overall:
I'm in love with it. After using it I placed an order for a full sized bottle of Space. NK. Laughter Body Balm.
Recommended:
Outdoorsy girls, who love those outdoorsy scents. Space. NK. Laughter Body Balm will also be enjoyed by those who adore the Lush Karma scent. It has a similar hippyish scent to it.
