Review: Soap & Glory Great Shakes Hand Cream

I am a huge fan of the Soap & Glory line. It's a bath and body line that is exclusive only to Target. I have been a fan of the line for a few short months now, and whenever I become a fan of anything, I try and get hold of nearly every product I can.

The reason I fell so deeply in love with the brand was because of its unique one of a kind scent. The Soap & Glory line all smells the same (spa ones smell differently), it has a very light musk tone to it, with a hint of fresh rain and a small douse of what smells like beer. Although that may not sound yummy to you, believe me the combo is delicious. What really won me over though was how long the scent lasts on my skin after I use it.

Out of everything I have ever tried from the line, I usually end up liking it. Only 1 product so far failed to win me over, and that's not so bad because I've tried quite a number of their items.

Unfortunately Soap & Glory Great Shakes Hand Cream became the second product in the line that didn't win my heart.

Soap & Glory Great Shakes Hand Cream comes in a really cute pink stand up squeeze tube. You can find it down the specialty bath isle in Target. It's pretty hard to miss because the Soap & Glory line uses an adorable eye catching color pink to label it's product, and they also slap on a cute retro black and white sticker on most of their products.

Scent:
 
The scent was the same as all Soap & Glory products. Basically it smells delicious; unfortunately after comparing Soap & Glory Great Shakes Hand Cream side by side to Righteous Butter, I was pretty disappointed to see that the two barely had differences.

Righteous Butter is pretty much like lotion, it's not thick like standard body butters are.

When I got Soap & Glory Great Shakes Hand Cream in a small set, I figured this one would offer something different. Unfortunately after squeezing some of the hand cream out into my hands, I could not help but think that it was the exact same thing that Righteous Butter was. The color, the scent, and the way it made my skin feel. There was nothing different.

The hand cream does moisturize, don't get me wrong, but it's just so familiar to the butter that you could honestly use either one for the same problem.

It absorbs fast, leaves skin feeling soft, and coats the skin with it's gorgeous long lasting scent. Yes it is delicious, but it is also not unique to it's sister body butter. The butter, and hand cream both share the same qualities, they smell good, they leave your skin feeling nice, and they even have the exact same texture.

Aside from being too similar to another sister product, the hand cream does not offer all that much to your hands. As soon as it absorbs, your hands will be left feeling softer, but the feeling is short lived.

The scent on the other hand sticks around for a long period of time. If you are looking for a cure for dry hands though, this one will only go so far.

This one is just far too similar to Righteous Butter, and with the price stamped at $9.99, you are better off getting a large tub of Righteous Butter.
