Sexy Summery Hairstyles for Women with Long Hair

Without a doubt, I think that women who have long hair not only look sexier, but they feel sexier too. However, when summer months shine down upon those with long lush locks, we tend to get more annoyed with our hair because it can sometimes cause us to sweat at the back of our necks if we leave hair down.

The worst thing one could do would be to cut off their locks to try and cool off during hotter summer months. I made this mistake, and thankfully now my hair is starting to grow long once again!

There are hair styles that those with long hair can do their hair up in, in order to stay cooler during hot summer days.

The first style is the easiest. Simply tie your back, at the middle of your head. This will keep hair from falling on your neck, allowing air to hit the area to keep you cool.

Other simple styles include pig tails. If you are over 20 though, don't even think about wearing high pigtails. If you want pigtails keep them low and let them hang in front of your shoulders. Do not under any circumstances tie pigtails at ear level. You will end up looking like a stripper. High pigtails (like these) are meant for children; not adults! Britney Spears has yet to learn that little hairstyle lesson.

Keep pigtails low if you are going to wear them at all. Jessica Simpson has mastered the art of wearing long pigtails, by tying them into thin braids which keep hair from flowing onto her neck or face.

Tying hair up into a french braid is also a very popular style for hotter summer months. Lauren Conrad is seen wearing french braids frequently. The best look she sports is when she does a french braid to her longer bangs. The look is beautiful, and it also pulls hair from out of her face. Click to view.

Other sexy summer styles for women with long hair would be to tie hair way, way up at the top of your head. Doing so allows your hair to fall down into a layered look which is very flattering, and will keep you cool. Look at Lauren Conrad's high ponytail for an example.

Another style is the simple bun, but it's not as attractive unless you master making the perfect bun, which is unlikely. Buns for the most part are a sign of laziness; that is...unless it looks like this!

Mastering such a bun is really not all that hard. It requires a lot of bobby pins, and a lot of patience and practice! The result however is astounding!

There are many looks women with long hair can work with. They may be time consuming, but the results are pretty beautiful if you just take a bit of time. Easier styles can be done in seconds, while others could take up to an hour if your hair is really, really long.

Adding rhinestone clips to long hair at the sides, or a headband, also creates a very sexy hippie look that is making a comeback. Click for example.
