Choosing the Right Hair Style for You

When choosing the perfect hair style, women actually have a lot of things that they must consider before bringing the scissors even close to their locks. If you rush into a hair style, you may end up hating it.

You have the color to consider, and your skin tone to consider, as well as the shape of your face.

Those with round faces and larger foreheads will want to avoid bangs.

Those with long narrow faces should avoid cutting hair any shorter than shoulder length, and those with square faces should keep their hair long and avoid tying it back tightly.

Women with round faces look really good with short hair cut into a bob cut. It accentuates the face, and looks cute.

Skin tone also plays a major part in make or break hair styles.

If you have pale skin you would look good as a blond, but may look terrible if you dye your hair black. Those with certain pale skin types may already know which colors would look good and bad on them. Not everyone though is fortunate enough to be able to envision how a certain hair color would look on them.

Black hair on pale skin sometimes looks really good; and sometimes really bad.

The best advice I could give to figuring out if certain color would look good or bad, would be to use a photo-shopping, or virtual makeover program to see how you would look with different colored hair, before you actually go to dye it.

Those with darker skin colors should avoid dying their hair bleach blond, because it does not look natural. If people are staring, it's only because they are trying to figure out why your hair looks as fake and blond as Barbie's.

Adding a blond chunks or streaks here and there however is quite flattering on those with darker skin. Going all out blond though should be avoided.

Medium skin tones look good with light brown to dark brown hair. Medium skin tones look a little bit unnatural with lighter brown/blond hair colors, but the unnatural look can sometimes be flattering. Eye color could actually play a vital role in whether or not medium skin tones should dye their hair lighter.

Choosing the best hair style for you is all based on many factors. What shape face you have, what color hair you have (or are planning to dye it), what skin tone you are, and what eye color you have.

If you go mixing things up, results could look unnatural and (I hate using this word) ugly.

If you cannot imagine what a certain cut, style, or color to use, get a virtual makeover program and take many different hair styles, and colors for a test drive.
