Frankly I think my heart shaped face is fantastic, and I am sure many of
you heart shaped naturally born doll faces felt the same way about your
unique heart shaped face.
Now a heart shaped face does not necessarily mean you have 2
foreheads. Heart shaped is actually better referred to as 'the tear
drop' shaped face. A wider forehead with a more narrow chin.
I will use Christina Ricci as an example throughout this article due
to the fact that she has a perfect heart shaped face, and has sported
many looks that have either worked well, or looked terrible.
One thing you will want to note though is to avoid bangs. If your
forehead is wider, you will want to skip on bangs all together.
Unless you plan on making your bangs thin and wispy and to the side (see photo), avoid long chunky bangs. It's not flattering on heart shaped faces (check out Christina Ricci's photo if you don't believe me)
Heart shaped heads look wonderful with short hair if done right! You
do not want to cut your hair any shorter than shoulder length though. If
you do make 100% sure that you have a longer layer up towards the
front.
Look at the photo on the left of Christina Ricci. Notice how her hair has grown out, and how much better her heart shaped face looks without bangs.
Heart shaped faces look best when hair is long. In this photo
of Christina Ricci, you see that her hair is very long and very
straight, but has no body. Straight hair on heart shaped faces looks
best when volumized.
The best look though for those with tear drop faces is when it is long and softly curled, waved or tousled. It allows us to slightly hide our larger foreheads, and gives off the illusion of tons of body.
We can pretty much work with any hair style, but have to be very
careful mainly on what we do with our bangs and hair length. It's best
overall to avoid bangs, or to at least make sure that whomever is
cutting your hair knows what they are doing.
The best look though, by far, is to keep hair long and tousled.
