Spring is literately right around the corner, and the summer season will
not be far behind. With each passing season, trends in makeup tend to
change. For the summer season many women like to sport dewy glowing
skin, where during the winter months matte finishes look best.
Creating a dewy summer glow for your skin, aside from destroying your
skin at a tanning salon, can be done easily with a few clever makeup
products and tricks to your makeup application process.
First and foremost, you are going to want to get a cream cover up, or
foundation that is one shade darker than your own. However, do not buy a
shade too dark, otherwise you will end up with the dreaded facial mask,
where your neck does not match your face. Keep the shade as close to
your natural skin color as possible.
Before applying your foundation, I would recommend using a day facial
moisturizer. It also helps in creating a dewy look, which is natural,
not greasy.
After applying foundation, you'll need to apply a pressed powder. If
you do not normally have oily skin, then you can skip the pressed
powder.
Now that you have a flawless face though, how do you go about getting glowing skin? This is simple.
The next step in creating a dewy look is to apply blush. Instead of
applying blush in your usual color, try to purchase it in a more burnt
copper color, but make sure it's not too dark otherwise the natural
glowing look will look unnatural. You want just enough to highlight your
cheekbones. Don't saturate your cheekbones; a light wisp of your blush
brush once or twice is more than enough.
Next comes your finishing touch, the must have makeup product to
create dewy glowing skin. You can get this by using a bronzer, but like
your blush, make sure the bronzer is not too dark otherwise it will look
fake. You want a bronzer that also does not come packed with flecks of
glitter. Glitter on your skin does not give you a glowing look, it gives
you a fake go-go girl appearance, and overall it's just silly.
You want to buy a bronzer with extremely fine flecks of micro-glitter,
so fine that you cannot tell there is glitter in it at all.
I usually use a golden colored bronzer; however use the one that best matches your natural skin tone, or foundation.
Once you have the perfect bronzer, simply apply it to the entirety of
your face. A very light one sweep should be all you will need. Do not
overdo it otherwise you will look too shiny and metallic.
This dewy glowing look will last all day long. Once you are done with
your face, you can now work on your eyes. Go ahead and do your eyes up
as you usually do. You can substitute colors for metallic colors like
bronze, silver or gold. Or if you prefer other colors for your eye
shadow, try to get them with a slight shimmer or pearly finish.
Voila-you have a glowing look!
